    1961-1963 Starcraft Jet

A Splash-well or motor-well serves several purposes: !! Minimize the chance of the stern being swamped... which doesn't take much... wake from a larger vessel, trailing wave, etc. Provide torsional rigidity by acting as a gusset. protection/storage for the cranking battery, fuel, electronics...

My First StarCraft; 1975 18' SuperSport

I was fishing the Hudson River in NY. I’m a longtime member of Carp Anglers Group (CAG). According to Mn DNR website it is perfectly legal to release common carp in the water that it was captured. It appears to be illegal to transport them to another wild water. Bighead and Silver Asian...

    1961-1963 Starcraft Jet

Welcome @TheHickoryStick ! Heck of a deal right there! +1 on what racerone said. As a sidenote, it looks like the transom was replaced/raised at some point (a long time ago) to accommodate a longer shaft engine. It's hard to tell but it looks like the splashwell is missing.

    1983 starcraft rebuild

Welcome @backintheday ! A removable deck would be neat. With that said, if you take your time addressing leaky rivets/seams now (as well as a proper trailer setup) while the boat is apart, it should be a long time until anything needs to be readdressed. Another option...I added deck ports...

    Starcraft patriot transducer question

Is that from a trim tab? If it's just taking up space and you're set on that spot, perhaps you can rivet a piece of aluminum angle to it and mount the transducer to the angle.

Please bear with me...still coming to terms with PB eating my lunch. :) I went the external patch route. I first formed the patches using a deadblow hammer. You can make the Al patches more malleable by coating one side with soap and heating the opposite side until the soap burns. Notice I...
