    Looks like a needle bearing to me.----And the crankshaft surface is part of the bearing.----Needles run on the crank.----Was that bearing carefully located on the dowel when you assembled this motor ?

    Water level in your test bucket needs to be 6" above the impeller.

    I think you are referring to the fast idle lever.-----Used for cold starts and warm up.----It is to be all the way down before using the big lever for shift / throttle control.

    Check for water in the fuel.----And as always post your compression test actual values.----Then do a spark output test.---Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on each lead ?-----Might be running on 3 cylinders.
