    Transom Repair

    I’m gunna disagree with Scott. You can make a two piece transom but the joints must me staggered. A 18” cut on opposite ends Will do the trick. Use plenty of Titebond III and plenty of transom clamps. She’ll be as strong as a 1 piece.

    TB - III. Use screws. Take screws out. Apply 2 liberal coats of Old Timers. The 2 coats of spar varnish. With proper maintenance and care your grandkids will be using that transom

    Well experience tells us that knocking only lets you know some ones at the door. You have to open it to SEE what’s on the other side!!! Boats of this vintage with solid stringers and transom are very rare. The history of this forum has all the proof anyone needs!!!😳

    Small Hole Repair - Good Idea or Bad Idea?

    If you want to make sure the repair doesn’t pop out. Use a countersunk on the front side and don’t tape the back site. Use thickened resin no fibers. Small bit of patch material pushed in hole and let it mushroom on back side. When dry this forms a rivet that won’t pop out
