Got bored and looked out the back window...

    Bayliner Floor Project

I'd look a state or two north. It got really cold for people who wouldn't normally winterize their boats and I'm sure in another week or two those will start popping up. Boat trader and the like may also help.

NO insects or spring birds this year.

I've been getting murdered by mosquitoes and other bugs. Plenty of birds chirping when I go to work in the morning. I stand by the truck for a few minutes before leaving just to take it all in. Quite soothing. Ungodly amount of squirrels and chipmunks.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

8/16/24: Test fitting all the cabin pieces: Looked like something with the original bits installed... Building all the trim pieces for the cabin... Mock up looks good. 8/17/24: Carpeted the seat boxes. Again, not earth shattering.... 8/18/24: Gelcoated the cabin and finished carpeting...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I wanted to get the thread updated with all the pictures I couldn't upload in the middle there... So here goes. 7/24/24: Got my continuous wrap of CSM in and over the side compartments. As you can see, they tabbed nicely and I went about half way down the stringer. Completely encapsulating the...

    Bayliner Floor Project

Up to you. If you love the boat, proceed. But if you're not married to it I agree... you may be better off finding a good hull in need of an engine vs putting all the time into it....

    Bayliner Floor Project

This is the biggest thing here. I was only able to finish in ~7 months because I do shift work. So I'm always on 2 off 2 on 3 off 2 on 2 off 3 and then it repeats. And I was able to dedicate 16 hours to it when I did work on it. Most people don't have that luxury at all. All in I spent 68...

    Bayliner Floor Project

I'll answer how I feel and based on what I did... My questions are this: What's your overall advice for taking on this kinda project? Take lots of pictures, measurements and drawings before diving in. What ever material you think you need order some extra. And plan on everything being a loss...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

I set mine on the trailer but it behaved the same in the water. The service manual for TBV says to set in the water.

So you're saying I'm once again going above and beyond? :p

    propeller doubt

The flip side of this is if you can achieve proper wide open throttle rpm. If you cannot, none of that matters. The 17 is a good starting point imo. I'd rather be under propped than over to start.

    propeller doubt

I'd try what you have first then go from there personally. Just to add, the diameter is relatively meaningless compared to pitch.

    Primer for engine block?

Pass a torch over the area you intend to paint before hand. Helps a lot. Most of the high temp paints I've used say to not use primer.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

So here's a question. Sealing the windshield to the hull. It appears to have been done originally with silicone or some sealant. I see now people use foam tape. I'm curious what all you all have done to seal/bed it to the hull.

Elbow gasket. Open, closed or restricted water flow gasket?

Open flow for closed cooling block with raw water exhaust.

Lol. He just called me "I'm sunburnt. The boat is washed. The enclosure is on. I didnt go into AFIB docking it." Guess that's a good day!

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

I'm stuck at work, wheeled the boat all week and dad sends me this: Glad it's in for the season. Glad he got to go out and enjoy it. Sucks I'm running the plant. The haze in the sky is from the fire about 10 miles south.
