    Thats sounds more like a ignition problem. Take a timing light and hook to each cylinder to see which is missing

    Might check to see if you have 12v on the purple wire at rectifier with key on. This turns on the rectifier and output to grey wire

    The motor is hurt as you cant tell with it on muffs, needs to be under a load. It will still run but if it has transfer not for long. Also carbon will not build up in a single cylinder of a multi cylinder motor.

    Thats because they repaired the result but didn't address the cause. A good technician has to be a detective..we see the piston died but who did it?

    Older motors with some wear on em just wont set by book. Just gotta let it tell ya what it wants. Only thing I use timing lite for is WOT setting, rest is by ear and what it responds to.     Mechanical pump fills the VST. HP pumps send to injectors and regulator and unused returned to VST. Float and inlet needle control fuel level in VST. Fuel pump red stays hot all the time, fuel pump is controlled by ECU which varies 12V negative differential to pump ground
