    Store boat without fuel tanks during season(in garage)?

    Just wondering, I store my boat(40 hp Merc outboard, aluminum 17') heinz.forster@copart.com in garage always, if tanks are half or entirely full, would it be better to store them away/outside during season? I take it out most weekends. Thanks, Heinz

    Add foam to alum. 16' boat for safety???

    Was jusy curious - have read about adding closed cell foam(strips?) to undersides of bow, storage under seats, and under aft deck area to my 16'aluminum boat w/ 40 hp Merc to increase floatability/safety - does anyone have any ideas or experience? Thanks, Heinz

    How tight vent and fill screws 40 Merc?

    Well after checking out one marina to launch, heard it was real crappy from some folks(trucks stolen, druggies, etc.)they directed us to a Marina in Oakley(CA.) called Lauretzens - what a GREAT place to launch!     Just curious - I just chgd. lower unit gear oil - cheap and easy on my 40 hp Merc, how often should I do this? I want all to last as long as possible. Is it OK to use automotive 80/90 wt. like in my vehicles diffs - I have gallons of that? Thanks, Heinz
