1988 4.3 ltr engine starter wiring

I'm guessing this motor was rebuilt but not test run before installing.

    Starter Freewheeling/Stripped Flywheel?

Almost certainly the bendix, which pushes the starter gear into engagement with the flywheel.

1988 4.3 ltr engine starter wiring

Is it possible the engine is frozen or hydrlocked? Or the drive? Note, the starter already bypasses everything else.

    1999-mercruiser 5.0L 8-cylinder overheat and 2 cylinder have low/no pressure

Valves or piston - I'd bet valves. A rebuild may very well require going through everything if it got hot enough. Block checked for deck flatness. Heads gone over fine tooth comb. Cylinders inspected. Hot enough to get a couple cylinders down to nothing is pretty hot.

    MERCRUISER MODEL 165 (2 BBL.) MERCURY 224 I/L4 1987

Get a compression test to be sure sure the whole nine yards didn't miss a valve adjustment or broken rings. Happens to most anyone.

A manual would be really handy. Wonder if there is one available? Fascinating figuring it out.

3 prong oil pressure switch elec. fuel pump wiring

Your harness will not have the purple/yellow wire in it, that came out in '92/'93 when electric fuel pumps replaced mechanical. The starter motor on my '90 motor did not have the outer 'fuel prime' lug for the pur/yel wire either. I thought about using another relay and going off the yellow/red...

95 Mercruiser 4.3 water in oil

You have a real puzzler. And yeah, you have water everywhere isn't supposed to be. Clean everything up. Reassemble. Get it running soonest to get the last of the water cleaned out and everything moving freely. Pull the plugs when you shut it down to observe whether the manifolds leak back. Then...

95 Mercruiser 4.3 water in oil

If it didn't run in from the carburetor, and it sounds like not, then you need to reinstall the intake and pressure test the block cooling system. To my eyes the intake gaskets were pretty pristine and unlikely to be the issue. If the block passes the test then Occam's Razor says look at the...

    Information - 3L Mercruiser

take it for a spin! worthwhile to say that again, take it out for a while THEN inspect the motor and bilge for water ingress, oil leaks. listen - any weird sounds? does it shift correctly? vibrations? is the boat located where it is used in salt water? important consideration as internals rust...

Only attach a regulator once you identify that one is needed. Make sure regulator is marine rated.

Available from Merc. Most places the Barr is out of stock. Found it on Amazon of all places. (I hate Amazon) Other members will point out lots of places you can find the high end Barr available.
