    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Ah, the good ole' "sore thumb"! I haven't heard that name in years. And the obi! (Oak Beach Inn). We used to fish out there back in the 70's and 80's. Buckets and buckets of flounder and puffers too. We called the puffers chicken of the sea because when you cooked them, they looked like...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Yep, and no beards allowed. Before working at ground zero in Manhattan after 911, we were not only fit tested for our respirators, but also had a lung capacity test and a lung x-ray done. Anyone with a beard had to shave it or leave. Being "in the know" and witnessing all the Covid mask...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

That's terrible! If she was on the throttle all the way up the ramp and into the parking lot, there might have been more damage than just a prop, as you well know. The engine could have overheated.

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

I mounted a tiny LED in my helm dashboard connected to the optional remote monitoring post of the ACR. This way I can see what mode the ACR is in. I emailed Blue Sea asking for a copy of the sticker that's on the ACR. They sent me one, no problem and free. I stuck that sticker near the led so...

Sounds like unnecessary power loading to me.

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

As others have stated, if you turn off the perko battery switch there should not be any parasitic draw unless something is directly connected to the battery. All the ACR does is sense the voltage of the two batteries and if one is low, it will bridge them so both get charged. I can't see...

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

The Blue Sea diagram shows two fuses, but I used circuit breakers and positioned them at the batteries. I press the trip button on each one whenever the boat is not being used. I trailer my boat, but if you dock your boat, make sure your automatic bilge pump has constant power at all times.

    IO steering

Do you trust the mechanic? You can research it yourself easily by process of elimination. My steering became very hard. It took two hands to turn the wheel. At first I thought it was the steering actuator, ram or whatever it's called. I thought it was jammed up with dried up grease...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

I call those cars Euro-trash. You're all quite correct. They are nice cars when they are new, but put some miles on them and you'll be replacing everything. Even if you do the work yourself it will be quite expensive and most parts are shoehorned into place. You'll also need all new tools...

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

I'm not sure where this thread is located, but I'm guessing you can't get a washer and nut secured onto the fitting from the inside of the tank. How about heating a nut up that matches the threads of the fitting and pressing it (melting it) into the plastic? I've used "drop in" anchors that...

    Engine bay blower question

Yeah, the blower definitely pulls from the lowest point. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. Thinking maybe with the hatch closed there would be a stronger air flow where it's needed, considering maybe the engineers design might have located the inlets for maximum flow to the lower bilge and...

    Engine bay blower question

Mercruiser I/O. I have a bow rider with the large sunpad covering the engine bay. I start the blower and run it for the suggested 4 minutes before starting the engine or whenever idling around the lake. On my initial startup of the day, I open the engine hatch to check on everything and...

Need suggestions for rear guides on a trailer...

The dock is 50 yards away. That's poor planning on whomever built it. Yep, should just be a matter of getting used to a different setup. You'll get a new routine down I'm sure. How's the shoreline? Can you just beach the boat or is it rocky? If it's rocky, I guess you'll have to get into...

Need suggestions for rear guides on a trailer...

I never power the boat off or onto the trailer. No need to. Plus it's bad for the ramp to stir up the soil which can create a hole for someone to get their trailer tire stuck in. When dropping the boat in I just back in and tap the brakes, it just slides off the bunks. If someone is with me...

    Bunk carpet

Make sure the wood under the carpet is still good. Mine is nearly 20 years old and I had to replace the wood for all four bunks. Two were really bad, basically just fell apart from rot after I removed the carpet. The only thing holding them together was the carpet. Funny thing is that all...

    Main engine for trolling

No, that's not OK. You're not helping with your snide comments. There's no need for that. Glad the OP got his answer. I think he was confused about the mechanic stressing not to idle too much during break-in.

Need suggestions for rear guides on a trailer...

Since the boat is new to you, could be you just need to find the sweet spot as far as trailer depth. My trailer is a bunk trailer and I need about 1/4 of the forward part of the forward bunks above the water surface. My fenders are just below the water surface. When I shut off the engine...
