Tilt / trim system? Mine is powered from the battery or battery switch thru separate fuse.
It works on my Sea Ray, using the transom mounted switch, with battery switch off.
I would remove the quick disconnects and hard connect.
If quick disconnects are never disconnected and exercised, they tend to form leaks in hostile environments.
Here where I am in NC, they sell the ethenol free gas in about 75% of the gas stations and it's usually 91 or 93 (have seen some 89). About $0.50 per gal more than ethenol gas of same octatane rating.
On what should you use? Low performance engine = low octane.

Some tach / hour meters require a pulse (like from the ignition) to get the meter to run. I had to use a pulse generator to get my new tach / hour meter to advance to the 508 hours on the old hour meter. Had it plugged powered for like 21 days to get it right.

Mercruiser makes a wired version. Have had on / added to all my boats and they work without a hitch.
Never seen a wireless one. I would imagine you could get something like to work fairly easily, but there would be a parasitic power drain on the batteries for that to be operational...
Sounds like the "trailer" switch is bad. It is a separate button, or a 2nd click on the up button, depending on your controls. It bypasses the up/out limit switch to go to full up for trailering.
Some reason, I only considered leaks high on the engine. What about the pan itself? Maybe the gasket got borked when installing. I have seen a couple of V6 pans crack back around the rear main area.
Did the oil pan have any rust on it when installed?
Steel oil pans and damp bilges don't get...

Intake manifold gasket (especially where it contacts corner where block meets heads, meets intake)
Valve cover gaskets
Oil pressure sensor (if it screwed into the block back there)
Distributor missing gasket / o-ring where it enters intake
Rear main seal...
Interesting. I checked the compatability list and it has almost 2800 line items. Looks like it does all Merc and Mercruisers
Do have to buy adapter cables too for $25, but one is a Mercruiser Cable.

Sure looks like a bunch of rust in there, ie: water in the hub.
Hint: use a caliper to measure, as a ruler won't get close to a 100's of an inch. Your ruler measurement is meaningless in this situation.
What year was the original one and what motor was it?
That top circled one is for the drive oil line fitting.
The missing hole, I don't know, but the pitot tube line goes in the other one.
What was all connected on the original one?
The old one almost looks really odd and doesn't look anything...
Buzzing sound is the fuel pump, if you have an electric one.
Does the red wire have power all the time? It should when battery switch is turned on. If not, bad circuit breaker back on the engine or bad wire / connection somewhere..
