My gluvit shipped today. And I have to return the pressure washer I borrowed this Friday so it looks like I have some work to get done. For the gluvit, I have to clean that inside out real good and sand the seams and rivets im going to coat? Or just make sure that the area is clean? Also, at...

Next chance I get Its time to pressure wash the inside and check for leaks. Man was this flip some undertaking by myself. Out of curiosity guys, whats the argument over painting the hull VS leaving the hull bare aluminum?

Finished this side up during the lil one's nap. Luckily it was a longer one. This front spot is the only large area left. I dont want to do this until it is back off the trailer. I guess Ill look into fixing these areas with JB weld while I am at work tonight. That weekend I...

well, I couldn't help myself today guys. after cleaning up the rivet line of death you see there in the first pic, I tore into the side. I was only gonna sand that part, but might as well do it all. You can see some blue in there in the side shot too. looks like another layer of some paint to...

Citrus stuff worked real well on the areas that sanded real good. The bow needed another round of Kleen strip. I think the tan might be original primer, the white was the newer stuff. When its just the white it comes right off. The tan is bonded pretty good. JBcurt, this pic below...

it worked with minimal work and help from a neighbors kid who stops by from time to time. i have to move the front winch forward about 3-4 inches, but it will fit in the garage. Storage problem solved, I did forget about the tarp in my excitedness to try it out though. That will happen though. I...

64osby, I hear you and believe in your experience, Its just that there must be something I can do for ease of mind. I guess since Im removing something during this process makes me think I need to replace it. Here are a few pics of the recent play time. I mainly been trying to sand those white...

Plans are arranged to pick this up on Monday. Used find in Clist right where my budget was at. I was actually about to buy a brand new smaller trailer with out a spare that would have cost a few hundred more. Ill probably be moving in Nov. so I had to spend money on a road worthy ready to pull...

Here is what I would like to end up with. I am thinking I might want to add some additional knee braces to the transom though? Any others here that opened there up to tiller motor? Ill prabably go with brown carpet and some more seating.

This stripper brush works geat! I use the paint stripper first, the the strippper pad to get that old green stuff off. Turned out nice.

The rear half minus my test from last night I did the "cover with plastic" method and I think it worked better then not using it on the half towards the bow. But, I did not pre-sand the bow area so that could be a factor. I sanded the rear half with 8o grit. So on the rest I think I will...

So the top pic is an area I had not sanded at all yet. With a 15 min. wait time this paint came of with ease. The bottom pic is an area of the hull I had sanded the loose stuff off and only had the paint that was bonded good. That also came off easily after 15 mins. most of the paint around the...

So I got some sanding done on the hull and the back of the transom.. This work has made me think that I am going to pick up some paint stripper and go that route. Next days off I hope to experiment a little with the stripping process. The two other pics are holes toward the bow right in the...

Hows this back transom look? Is that what you call pitting? I pick up these supplies up today. will these jb weld products work on these corrosion spots on the transom also? Opinions welcome. Also picked up these primer spray cans and 2 qrts of camo brown paint. I would have sanded today, but...

Got it off the trailer, Hull looks like it never hit a rock in its 30 something years, There are a few different sealers and stuff in the seams. Im thinking its just preventive attempts at sealing it. got one good scrub down on it before the kids woke up from nap time also. Ill start playing...

This is a pic inside of the bow, Looks like fiberglass/resin glob of stuff. Do you think I should grind it out or is it a factory glob of stuff I should leave alone? I could just wait till I fill it to check for leaks too?
