Can you post a picture of the water pump housing part and seal that you're referring to that's missing. Also as 99yam40 said, make sure the water in the tank is above the level of the water pump not just the intake. Does any water come out of the pisser when you have the hose connected to the...
I'm guessing there is one common wire that goes from the ignition switch to each gauge. See if there is one wire that does that clip onto it then put the key switch thru each position and see what you measure, if anything.
You said you "got" the boat, did he dump it on you, give it to you or did you buy it? There's no registraion sticker on it either. What paperwork did he have on it and the trailer? Bill of sale means nothing how about pink slip and registration?
Don't know why the motor died on you. Are you saying when you tried to start the motor all you hear is the click and the motor is not cranking at all? How did you measure the 12.6 volts? Did you measure that while you were cranking the motor or at rest? Did you go by a dash voltmeter or a...
I knew I should have saved the link to the post, I can't find it now. It wasn't in the FAQ forum. I thought the post was about milky oil but it disappeared. If it happens again I'll save the link to the post.
If you don't know when the water pump was replaced last you may want to replace it. The water stream you're referring to is called the telltale or pisser. I'm guessing hardwater fisherman may have answered your question about the water intake and if true it would be better to flush it in a tank...
That's a good question and interesting lower unit. Did the previous not tell you? Do you have a trash can you can hang the lower unit in and see what happens? Have you unscrewed the plug that's labeled wash to the left of the top oil level plug to see what's in there? Looks like it was treated...
As long as you have a live well pump and keep it running you're aerating the water as well. Post a few pictures of you holes. Your holes/drains should be the live well, bilge pump discharge above the waterline and the normal "pull or unscrew the plug" bilge drain.
