    Troubleshooting ignition coil 5.0 Mercruiser

Funny story about fuel pressure, after I installed the new electric fuel pump, I got one of those rental fuel pressure test kits but it was defective and sprayed fuel at me out the pressure relief. That’s when I took it to the shop where it sat for 3-1/2 weeks. I called another shop that told me...

    Troubleshooting ignition coil 5.0 Mercruiser

My boat starts and idles great but when I get up to 1200-1400rpm it it Boggs down. It’s a 2006 Mercruiser 5.0 MCM. Maybe it was air in the new fuel line I’ll run it more later and work the kinks out. May end up raising the float level it’s at 14mm?

I believe that did it. It backfired a little but revved up enough to overheat. All that’s left now is replacing the thermostat thanks

    Carb float level adjustment help

I had changed the fuel pump first and inadvertently bent the metal fuel line. I just picked up a new one. Earlier I opened to check my bowl and found a small piece of what looked like gasket material in there. I’m hoping that between the 2 I should be ready to rock.

I have a 5.0 and it starts and idles perfect but when I throttle up it bggs down. I recently put new gaskets on the carb. Is it possible I knocked my float level off causing a fuel starvation issue?

High oil pressure smell of gas in oil

Wouldn’t surprise me I’ve ran into some sketchy stuff with this boat. It just seems like as soon as one problem is corrected another presents itself. I did do a voltage drop test and found a .96v drop on the positive side of the circuit. I had just went through all the negative terminations and...
