Star Tron added to Jetski's now they will not start

Pour it in your car, yeah right. Your next thread is asking how we can help you fix your Fu**ed up car.....LOL. Pour the gas on your campfire pit and then back up.......LOL.

    Bimini top 1989 Funliner

Biminis that fit towers are useless. Other than a cool factor, what is the tower really do for you? Scrap the tower and get a real bimini.

Glastron vs FourWinns with the consolidated plant

Are any front line boats made with chopper guns today?

Long or short shaft. ( opinion )

That looks like a 1940's vintage Johnson. If so, chances are that the coils are still good. As long as it isn't stuck and you dress the points, it may start right up. At worst, maybe a carb cleaning.

    4.5 mercury 2 stroke

My 5 HP 4-stroke is mounted so that the lower unit is in the proper position. It will propel a 3500 pound bowrider at 6.0 mph. Enuf for me.

Long or short shaft. ( opinion )

Back in the dark ages, longs were few and far between. A simple tape measure won't require further discussion.

    Help prop an old boat?

Look up your engine in a Michigan Wheel catalog and select the prop that is suggested. Tach it out and probably you will be OK. If not, you have the data to select a better one.

1958 Hydroswift with Kiekhaefer Mark 78 outboard

That boat doesn't look suitable for an inline 6. Check the plate to be sure it isn't over-powered. Overall, the boat is not collectable. Classic boats have a calling, and that model / manufacturer isn't in the list. You need to find someone that wants an old boat for general use and is...

What would cause staining under sunpad?

Rode hard and put away wet. If the bilge has water in it and the sun pad is left down and the boat is in the hot sun, it's what i would expect to see.

    240 THOMPSON BOTTOM DEADRISE

Do the high school geometry math! It's not rocket science. If you are off a few degrees and in 20 foot water, the error will be minimal. If you are downriggering it in 300 foot water, the error will be huge, but then again, what's the difference? My many boats over the years have had transom...

    240 THOMPSON BOTTOM DEADRISE

Ignore the bubble since the boat is crooked. Align the device so it's level with the boat's waterline, not the ground.

1979 Glastron T166 XL Sportster Bilge Holes?

You don't use silicone on a fiberglass hull. If there is water in there, it's a good proposition that the innards are compromised. Your boat is about 3 times past its due date. They didn't build them to last back then.

    Ted Williams motor module 574-60100

It's a 57 year old air cooled 7.5 HP motor. Not collectible and not in high demand. List at 50 bucks and take 20 if you get a cash offer. You might get more on fleabay if you don't mind the shipping hassle.

    240 THOMPSON BOTTOM DEADRISE

A straight edge and a ruler. Oliver has a heap of apples. Tan(deadrise) = O/A. Easy peasy. (with all that crap I learned in High School, it's a wonder I can think at all)

Hahahaha. The worst thing anyone could ever do.

Wild goose chase looking for our perfect 2nd boat?

You will never find a boat that fits ALL your needs. Found that out 40 years ago. Then, a second boat was a necessity. Of course, the 2nd need not be as fancy or expensive as the first. After 55 years of boating, we now own 4 daily drivers. Each serves us well for what it is intended...

    Broken Skeg

Some of the newer ones are polymer and glue on. I don't know if they work better, but they are cheaper. OK, bolts. Is this a fishing boat, or a Reggie Fountain tournament boat? I dunno. Regardless, me thinks that a "regular" speeds it would not be a problem. But I'll defer to documentation.

    Which towing position

All the way down, no contest. MY argumentative FIL with a tinny didn't agree with that position and always would trail all the way up. "I told him so" One day on a rough road the motor fell off........and took the transom with it. No common sense any more.

    Broken Skeg

They make skeg savers that merely bolt on the bottom. Not too expensive and easy peasy. No sense to buy an outdrive or have a welded fix it. Nobody will even notice when you are in the water.

    Engine support while towing.

They make a rubber outboard support bracket that fits over the trim cylinder. I have one for both my large Mercs. They make them for Yami as well. Google it.
