    tilt wires getting hot during lift?

    found out the reason why my wires were getting hot on lift. however i have cut the wires to be ready to install the butt connectors. the sterndrive was to the left. it should be straight when tilting up. lol...... (headsmack)

    how does one flush out rust from block?

    as i said i will use my pressure washer in it. thanks.... id sooner be safe then sorry at this point. (wildlife and other animals, pets) yes exhaust is not good in water either however the alkaline in the lakes are far greater and eat it up..... anyways . not getting into a big debate here...

    well as it stands, when i toggle up (lift the outdrive up) the voltage drops considerably. i will be fixing the wires today. as for anything else. as i said , i will go through the whole lot of wires on the engine. . i will also be cleaning the contacts on each solenoid. gonna be a fun time for...

    i realize that, wasnt asking if there was a coating to prevent rust. just something to remove it . lol. anyways thanks for the advices on here . i will just pressure wash with the hose and be done with it. hopefully the water will still go through the riser as i do not have a new gasket for it...

    i have my manual, its pdf and i have been over all the wiring diagrams. i noticed this because of no lift again. touched the wires and they were hot. i will be joining them together and soldering with heat shrink. thanks

    yes i know. i had to replace the trim motor already as there was none with it. as for tilt i know wich one that is. question here was should i take the wires from the tilt motor and solder onto main wires where i pointed out then heat shrink? yes or no.? other suggestions?

    nope not deans, just 2 spade connectors into a plug. eeeeesh. thats how i got this boat. going to go through all engine wiring and make sure the rest is fine.
