    yeah, tha L, you mean 20" or 2 liter?.. replaced tha 2.5 xr6 power had with a plain jane 2.0...... cowls/decals don't mean much now days....

    sounds to me like its turnin' over plenty fast ta start if its makin' voltage and gettin' any inklin' of fuel.. still think he needs ta squirt a little fuel in it when its turnin' over ta see what happens...............

    thats what we used at first in '76.. when we started with tha performance improvements on tha V6 stuff it would bend tha control rod between tha cable and tha tiller arm.. went to dual opposed cables.. then to hydraulic or wire cable and pulley (referred to as "string" steering) thats...

    water pump copper tube.

    should be a tapered rubber gromet at tha top (in tha adapter) and one at bottom in tha top of water pump.. yeah, it can wiggle around with gearcase removed.. it compresses when tha gearcase is installed................

    don't fret... carbureted merc V6 each may have "they're" own way of first and/or cold start... you can try different things with it till ya find out what it actually wants for an "easy" cold/first start... examples: how long ta prime?.. push and hold key in or justa a bump or two?.. fast idle...

    yeah, tha hyd. seems ta be tha thing now days................ i hated it when it first started circulating on tha hot rods.. jus seemed like it didn't keep ya in "touch" with what tha boat was doin'... but eventually got use to it.....

    tha two large nuts on tha tube on either side of tha bracket need ta be jammed as tight as you can get them up against tha bracket and each other.. with that done tha large nut on tha cable should come loose........................ if that doesn't work then tha pipe wrench (not recommended) will...

    try these.. its what merc calls for... ngk buhw-2 are no more. 33-97182Q - NGK BUHW - 2 superseded to SPARK PLUGS (CHAMPION SPARK PLUGS) - L78V Sold individually.

    you might wanna mix your fuel at least 100 ta 1 till you get tha oiler deal figured out... could be jus tha oiler module thats not working?.. motor that old and not knowing anything 'bout it ya might wanna do away with tha oiler and do tha pre-mix thing....... jmo. and GL with it.

    if its on tha port head is for a temp GAUGE... nothing ta do with over heat alarm.... over temp sensor is in tha starboard head, or supposed ta be................ ????????....... what does this mean?.. do you get tha three test beeps when key is turned on?.. not being wide open throttle when...

    whats pressure at idle and at wfo?.... when its in tha water under a load (in gear)... a new water pump kit, stats, poppet can never hurt anything when dealing with a motor you are unfamiliar with!...... jmo.

    JFI... tha dia is with everything in "open" mode.. stats and poppet... tha poppet is closed when motor is at idle and/or below about 1800 rpm (not a set in stone number) and below so nothing comin' from there.....
