    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

Does anyone have a measurement for how high the stock windshield is perpendicular to the dash? I'm looking like I'm going to be at 24 inches straight up from the dash at the middle.

I'm still tinkering with the electrical. I've been keeping a lookout for a windshield with a swing door center section. My windshield made it difficult to get out to the bow. I picked this up today. This is it on another boat. By measuring things out, it looks like it's going to be a great...

    Painting Aluminum boat

I'll go back and see if I can find anything about this. But I'm thinking I should be fine by just scuffing it with some light grit. I'm going to go with the Rust-Oleum clean metal primer, and finally an oil based enamel. . I'll post back if I find the answer.

    Painting Aluminum boat

Is it okay to wait a week after etching primer on bare aluminum to then do the bare metal primer? I'm trying to follow the steps posted in these forums, but I don't remember if there was a maximum time frame between etching primer until the second step of bare metal primer.

    Seeing 360 Flasher on Fishfinder

Thanks, yeah, I don't think I said it was picking up my line on sonar. I'm guessing that zigzag image is either my 16oz Cannon Ball lead, or my 360 flasher. Most likely the 11 inch long 360 flasher. . I thought it was neat to see it and wanted to hear if others have seen theirs. . That was on a...

    Seeing 360 Flasher on Fishfinder

I found this older thread: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/seeing-your-lure-on-your-fishfinder.64237/ but I have searched all over the Internet and I'm not finding this discussed anywhere. My old humminbird broke, and so I found this old cheap Garmin Striker 4 and gave it a run. . I was...

I removed the rat's nest. I'm going to go with rechargeable LEDs so I don't have to run any wiring for the few occasions I need running lights.

I'm only going to go in freshwater in this boat. What size and how many magnesium anodes should I mount to my hull? I figured I'd put them under the water line on bare aluminum skin of the transum.

After sanding those areas down to shiny aluminum and leaving them bare, I took her with some friends and fished all day. Not a drop of water after pulling the plug. I'm going to leave the aluminum bare so I can keep an eye on those spots to see if they develop corrosion again. Thinking back, the...

The classic car hobby people call it a 'driving restoration.'

Yeah, I've seen it too many times. Especially with classic cars. 'There is that 65 nova still sitting in a field that's going to be a cool hotrod someday.'

Since I have it most the way off the trailer, I see now that rollers are missing and/or broken. I'm going to replace them with a bunk.

I'm doing this underside work with it most the way off the trailer. The title of this thread is to keep it usable. I don't want to have my boat unusable for any significant time.

I'm now back at the bottom again. I'm using heavy nylon abrasive brushes that go in a drill. I didn't want to use any kind of metal brush. I'm getting it down to shiny aluminum. Can I leave it as bare aluminum if I don't plan on going in salt-water?

    Anti-Ventilation Plate Height?

Sorry for not providing more info. It's a kicker on my 67 18ft StarCraft. I have a 75hp as the main. It's a 9.9 Yamaha with a high thrust prop. It's the stock prop. . I was thinking of lowering it some to get the Anti-Ventilation Plate fully below the lowest side.

Is my Anti-Ventilation Plate height too high, too low, or just right?

Thanks again for this post. I researched Kenda and things appear good about them. I ordered a set and they look really nice. And I can't find anything on them about China like on my current carlisle sport trail tires.

You know what?! I think I'll try that first and see how the 3" higher feels. I like how low things are now for the boat ramp, but maybe 3" higher won't be that big a difference. Thanks
