    81 omc sterndrive

Are you sure the cable is installed correctly in the remote (throttle)? Do you have a picture of the drive and the remote? If I've read your previous posts correctly, you've never had this boat in the water. Is that right?

I don't see it on the trunion cap on in your photo, but perhaps on the other side is a hose connector? If not, some of them had a flush kit installed like this photo. if neither of those two are on the drive, then Scott's right.

Old 1986 "Marathon" with O.M.C V8 Cobra information specs?

Welcome aboard. You're probably spinning your wheels. Marathon was a builder back in the trailer boat days, and they've been gone for quite a while. Boats didn't have a lot of documentation on their builds (typically). Not like a car manual or anything. You're probably going to do better...

Welcome aboard: it's going to be mostly an internet search. They've been out of business for a while. Generally, boats don't have much of a "manual" that was published by the builder. Generally speaking the rigging is not specific to the boat (in terms of manufacturer) anyway, so if you post...

Well that's certainly odd. Any wires capped off under the dash? // There's no other way to do this on the Stringer: the remote doesn't have a switch for the tilt. It's a separate switch at the helm somewhere (unless for some weird reason it's in the stern - which I suppose is possible)...

    daily music fix

Socrates is credited with originating a phrase something like "wise people eat to live, not live to eat." Kind of a statement of moderation; and it is used by health advocates all the time. Good chance the "work" statement is a variation of that phrase.

That's an electric shift Stringer. The remote (throttle) has a red lever to run up the RPM in neutral, and then the throttle controller. Tilt is a separate toggle switch somewhere. Do you have any unused "holes" in the dash? Maybe it was removed? The tilt motor is way at the back of the engine...

Possible that the OMC doesn't have trim. It was optional with the Stringer. On my Comoro the tilt and trim were the toggles like the one left of the ignition in this photo.

LOL ... yep ^^^^ : maybe I'm becoming "Southern" after all :) There are a couple in the area that are pretty junky. But overall, they're kind of a go-to over fast food and places like Cracker Barrel. Most of 'em are pretty clean, and the staff is usually really friendly and attentive.

Had to track through the history of Blue Angel aircraft a couple of years ago, so I knew those planes pretty well. Looked over the birds at the same time, so I thought I caught all of their models too. But I missed the Thunderchief.

    RIP Norm

"How's a beer sound, Norm?" "I dunno. I usually finish them before they get a word in." One of my favorite TV moments would be when Norm walked into Cheers. Great lines. Cheers George!

Sorry to hear all that. But it's still a cool lookin' collection. That's neat about the 105! I didn't know that. Would have liked to see a year or two of them flying 15s - just because of the performance of the airplane. But probably wasn't even close to practical.

Did the 'Birds ever fly the THUD? Or is that just a fun paint job? I've been around both teams my whole life. Even. worked the flight line with both. I've seen the Angels in all the aircraft since the Scooter, and the birds since they were flying the Phantoms. That's a lot of work in those models.

I dunno' if Mercruiser used the Buick motor or not, but OMC did. Your drive is defined by the maker of the leg, not the engine. Do you know what make the stern drive is? They put the tilt switch in different places too. OMC was usually a toggle switch on the dash.

Raise and lowering the outdrive is more dependent on the type of drive you have. What type of motor (make) is it?
