    Prop nut thread specs

Did find a 5/16" fine thread nut (5/16-24) I think that us it for the prop nut. The one I found was messed up a bit but just chased a tap thru it and when the storms stip, I will go check it for sure. It does make sense they would use a fine thread due to vibrations and all.

One reason we would never live in Florida....winds don't bother us but flooding certainly does. Years back my folks lived in Florida but had there home built on stilts with the garage under the house. Worked great, never any serious damage by winds ( concrete construction) and flood waters...

2006 40hpELPTO 2 stroke, is some white smoke normal?

Running high octane fuel is no benefit to your motor at all. Use a fuel additive that cleans the system like sea foam , or other fuel stabilizer. If your engine is rated for 87 or 89 octane fuel the high 95 octane can actually make the engine run poorer.

    towing - engine in neutral?

Years back the family had a gravel dirt ramp, not fancy but it worked. We power loaded on that ramp for almost 20 years, motor tilted up so prop wash shot up out of the water. Never damaged the ramp after all those years. Correct...many do not tilt their motors up far enough...but the ramps I...

Tilt the motor way out so the prop wash doesn't wash away the bottom of the ramp and you will be fine.

    Help with bow roller setup

Having the winch strap level is only a guide, not critical. The safety chain should prevent the bow eye from rising above the bow stop ( roller in your case) in case of an emergency stop. If your concerned about the bow stop matching the hull, look at the Y shaped non roller stops. Whether...

    handy cap crane mounting

When lifting/ carrying a person, you can't be to safe. I would expect that any type of human lift would be required to attach to the stringers or main frame of your boat. Decks and swim platforms are not considered the main frame structure. Lots of leverage being utilized when that arm is...
