    When I did mine it was not necessary to remove cap. I had full access to everything. I also didn't need to flip hull either. My trailer has 4 bunks that are straight and flat so hull didn't move and didn't have to worry about getting cap back on. You are 180 to my build so cap off and flip...

    So have had it out 5 times all with issue. Old prop....slip? Buy new prop... slip? Find fwd switch overtraveling causing what I thought was a bad prop. Next test... loose fuel pump. Buy new pump and test. then Peters out after 15 min run time .... replace coil and ballast resistor..... Test...

    I found windex removed wax pretty good and was cheap. I had not removed it right away and it got hard. had to scrub it off with scotchbrite/windex

    That looks like a electric to me. port ( left ) you have a hole where wires pass thru. If you look inside you should have the 2 wires for where the drive connects.

    74 stringer electric shift rebuild

    So bought a new (refurb) prop and it moved the problem from 2100 rpm to 3200 rpm. I did paint mark the prop before putting in water and the mark is askew. Possible new prop is junk also considering the different failure rpm?

    Do the rams move both directions or are they stuck. Test this.. remove hoses just before rams and put a coupling to both hoses, then test if pump goes both ways. And while hoses are off check for freedom of movement.

    Way too many things he didn't execute good enough. I would not trust that setup. If done correctly it would do fine
