    I have a leak.

So I've been getting some water in my bilge since the rebuild. I've narrowed it down to what I believe are two unrelated leaks... one is the water pump bolt, which I know how to address. The other, is the shift cable. And I've never seen it but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. What is...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I just forcefully took over my aunt's garage. Storage unit probably would've had more room to work and I wouldn't have had to drive a half an hour every time I wanted to work on it. However the perks of having a roll off dumpster in the yard to dispose of everything made the drive and free 99...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Looks Like I have 2 leaks. 1 is my brand new water pump. And the other is water coming out of the shift cable end on the linkage. Seems the shift shaft seal failed causing this... Will have to investigate further.

    Winterize My 2009 Tahoe Q5i 4.3 V6

I usually fog the engine, drain the block/manifolds then fill via the thermostat housing with antifreeze as I don't trust that the thermostat will actually open on a raw water cooled system should I just run it through the muffs... On a closed cooling system, running on the muffs is probably...

    cooking

I do rolling shift work so I typically don't get too much time off and I need to do something to feel productive. I'd rather be on the boat honestly.

    cooking

It's only worth it to make a bunch. Raining nasty weather, why not just to kill time. Threw on a movie and went to town.

I made some homemade pierogies. (Don't grill me on the paper plate. I didn't want to do anymore dishes)

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

Mine popped out easy enough with just threading a bolt into it. It would suck to try and tap in the new one installed though. I've done much worse.

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

I swapped the bypass valve when I installed mine. It was a lower pressure bypass. I actually have to update the other thread now that photos are back.

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

Warm setup, had the cold setup when this happened but per a post from bondo and having a GEN I drive I went to a warm setup. Everything seems to run about the same, block is 160 manifolds 170 elbows get the mixing so they stay cooler. Those temps were in 75 degree water after running 3800 RPM...

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

Haven't pulled the manifolds yet. But so far so good. Been monitoring temps and am seeing ~175F on the manifold and 155F on the elbow. I will probably swap to the 143F thermostat as that is probably pushing it temp wise. But otherwise seems good.

2017 Mustang GT oil catch can?

Ford had an OE one on the track oriented ones on some years if memory serves. Drained right back into the sump too. Personally I don't care for them and feel they're just more parts to cause a headache... but I'm probably in the minority on that one.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

So I haven't pulled the plug since my first launch. There is a puddle in the bilge and it's salty. Nothing major, maybe a cup but annoying none the less... Looks like I have some investigating to do. I am assuming it is from the engine at this moment in time.

Got a new toy to test out eventually...

It's funny, I would say regardless of trim it felt like it plowed all the time like it wasn't lifting much at all. The rooster was there tucked in or trimmed out but only running flat out... back down a couple MPH and it disappeared. It had more bite but to me it felt like the mirage had the...

Got a new toy to test out eventually...

So... This seems pretty cut and dry to me. Observations are the Enertia is easier to spin and bites better... But overall I think I prefer the Mirage. At wide open the Enertia shoots a small rooster tail. I am open to comments.

Got a new toy to test out eventually...

So I observed some interesting results while testing both props today. I want to crunch the numbers before going further (I'm still on the water so I just have the raw data). I'll post back tonight.

Pre 1976 drives have a different adjustment for the cable if memory serves... 5-7/8" maybe?

    Parking boat in driveway

Found this out by me too. Had blocked the boat in the street years ago for bottom paint. Code enforcement was there within an hour. Said they got a call from someone (I know who it was). Explained the law and dad and I smiled and said got it. Stays hitched up ever since. I will make it a point...
