    Painting Aluminum

I would strongly recommend Gluvit or coat it on the outside seams. Tilt the boat on a slight angle to do one side of the seams - let it seep in and the next day tilt the boat and repeat from the other direction. You could also Re-buck the rivets if they appear loose prior to the sealants.

    Painting Aluminum

I have used both and actually prefer gluvit on the inside. The coat it will be somewhat okay but I would consider that more of a "wear-abrasion" coating if used on the bottom. I personally would just stay with paint on the outside. Lifting your boat can be accomplished using the cherry...

Yes you have rotted strings and a bad deck What is holding that V6 in place??? It is mounted to the transom and stringers...... I have no idea what you have spent but I see a tremendous amount of work ahead of you.

    Too windy?

Maybe it is me getting older but high winds take to fun out of things forcing you to pay more attention to the boat instead of a fishing line. It also depends on where you are oceans vs small lakes (Not the great lakes) sometimes you can find a less windy spot but, there may not be fish there...

Primary and Secondary Imbalance - Alfadan Outboard Motor ?

Pure physical dimensions comes to mind. a single 1875 cc piston would be say 8" or so! Basically what has been described is a inline 4 that has been supersized. They are making up by increasing the volume to reduce the connecting rod. I hope they can do it. It is interesting

How to register a gifted boat?

it really depends on the state where you are located. Every state has different rules - good luck I would suggest you start with the Fish and Game or the DMV whoever takes care of boat registrations and trailers too.

Oil fired boiler....Is the block replaceable?

Welding cast is tough but can be done.... it really should still be taken apart either way based on the age.......... it's overdue for replacement and a newer one might save you fuel money

Oil fired boiler....Is the block replaceable?

It is a lot of work but the individual sections are replaceable. Depending on how ambitious you it can be a DIY project. Here in VT we are still in the heating season and craigslist is normally the best place to start looking. We have a really good supplier here too called FW Webb.
