I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I dunno man, I don't want to have the Starmada after me if I start an MC thread in the SC forum!

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Thanks! Yeah, the MC is over 2 feet wider and also 2 feet longer than the KF. Quite a difference. The MC is rated for a 150; that's 3x the HP of the KF. The MC seller told me that he had a Mercury XR2 on the boat for awhile but took it off because it was a 25" shaft and not the 20" that the...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

2-foot-itis fulfilled! 😆 We'll be parting with the Kingfisher sometime soon. I have a few things to touch up on it and will also keep it around until its replacement runs reliably. The replacement is a 1997 Mirrocraft Dual Impact XL 1845. I call it the MC. It's 18 feet long with an 89"...

    What engine do I have?

Just acquired an engine yesterday. May not be keeping it, but I'd like to know what it actually is. It has an Evinrude cowling, but the bracket plate apparently doesn't agree. :sneaky: From what I've been able to find from the Model number thus far, the engine is actually an 85HP 1978...

    Nobody fishing?

Hahaha! Creative! We haven't taken the KF out yet this year, but hope to do so soon. The weather has been cold/warm, cold/warm this winter due to El Nino. The boat has been cleaned, but I still want to do a couple of touchups before we head out. Fishing from the bank has been great...

Just a reminder that summer will be here soon...

We've had turkeys in our yard a few times lately. Very unusual. Then again, there's a major housing development going on nearby and they're likely being crowded out.

    OK I’ve had enough.

It's full on springtime here. The grass has already been cut once, the bass are spawning, the trees are budding and we're having our first springtime thunderstorm right now. We started cleaning the boat and nearly finished before the rain came. Very nice! (y)

    Nobody fishing?

We went fishing a couple days ago at "The ol' fishin' hole." I caught a nice 2 1/2 pounder and missed a few others. My wife caught a nice little bass and a catfish. The boy hooked a good bass, then lost it when he had reel problems. He tried to bring it in by hand, but it broke...

    Hybrid Vehicles

I have a buddy who drives for a living. He picks up medical stuff from a location and delivers it to a hospital somewhere. He uses the "company car" for the job and often times it's a Toyota Prius hybrid. At first he was wary, but now he loves the thing. It has over 450,000 miles on it and...
