I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Nothing really happening here again today. Rested my knee. No, not the burned one, that's just fine. :flame: The other injuredknee! I think I messed it up when I was moving the 90HP mid-section forthe Chieftain. Started feeling it the next day. And like most other stuff with me...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We went back out later this evening and did a bit more. Not as much as I'd hoped though. We were chugging along when my buddy texted me for help with his new-to-him boat, so I got interrupted. Then later he came over to my place with some freshly smoked mullet and another item that he needed...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Lunch break. Time to upload a few pix. I had some 0.05" AL angle stock on hand and used 2 pieces stacked to simulate the thickness of the rib ends and center stringer in the KF.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Progress today. :) And some expensive and time consuming lessons. Today I received the large rivets I ordered a week ago for $25 and added them to some I bought at the local big box store yesterday. And the big ones unexpectedly turned out to be the wrong size. The grip range...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Had to run around doing errands and whatnot again today. No chance to work on the KF but I did pick up a gallon of gloss black paint for the hull while I was out and about. :D Checked the OTF status on the bow brace pieces tonight. They're drying nicely. Tomorrow night I'll paint them with...

    Some good stuff happening

Received and installed the HDMI cable and remote power switch today. The cable worked fine, as expected. And while the remote power on/off switch worked well, it ended up not being suited for my application. It turns out that the little Viore TV power switch got confused when I taped it down...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Bow brace construction and trial fitment completed. :D Got all the holes drilled, clearance cuts made and OTF applied. The boy mocked the bracket into place so that we could make sure that all the holes lined up properly. He struggled mightily but got the job done.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

My original "plan" was to retire on Lake Norman in NC. Lovely place. Had intended to get some lakefront property and sit back and relax. That area gives enough of winter to make seasonal changes nice, but not horrendous like it gets farther north. But then life intervened and I ended up down...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Haha! Yeahhh... I don't miss those days. Been in Florida 20 years continuously coming up in May. My third time living here and I won't leave again. :nono: :bounce: Here's my dog at my Spokane WA house in 1981. And here he is acting like a snow plow! He'd put his head down sideways, then...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I'd hoped to get a little KF work done this morning before leaving for my doc appointment. I wanted to drill pilot holes for the top side of the bow brace and then screw the brace up tight so that we could move straight on to the starboard side this afternoon. Not happening. Too cold for us...

How many cars and trucks have you had over the years?

Back in the mid-to-late 80s, I had a 1972 Capri like the one in this pic, except mine had a sunroof. I used it as a daily driver/beater to go back and forth to work so that I didn't have to risk my SVO Mustang in all the horrendous northern California traffic in the SF Bay area. Ugh. :rant...

    Some good stuff happening

This morning we got the little TV and the cable box moved up to the high shelf. Tested it all and everything is working okay. Still awaiting delivery of the items I need to finalize the installation. But we're up and running! :D

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

This afternoon my old nemesis, the bow brace, rose from its watery grave to hassle me one more time! The boy and I fought with it for a few hours and finally got half of it beaten. :mad-new: Tomorrow is a "lost" day for me since I'll be running the roads to doc appointments and whatnot. We...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Haven't mentioned weather in awhile. We had a warmer than usual spell a couple weeks ago but since then it's been spectacular! Great working-on-boat kinda weather. Too cool for painting but great for being out there doing stuff! Right now it's in the mid-30s so we'll wait till it warms up a...

    Some good stuff happening

Today we did some scrounging around and found a 1/8" stereo mini-plug to RCA cable that I had tucked away. Hooked the new TV up to the stereo receiver and the sound was excellent! I ordered a remote outlet controller and will be able to power the TV on/off with that once it's connected...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Made progress today. I finally ordered some cotton-pickin' rivets!! We did other stuff too. :p Traced the bow brace pieces onto the new plywood. Clamped the new ply into place. Jigsaw with new blade and safety gear on hand.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Aaaaand.... no work on the KF today. Got side-tracked with a small road trip to get a TV for my garage, then on the way home my wife insisted that we stop and fish awhile! Who's to argue with that? Not me! :eyebrows: So we did! :) After I got home and fussed with the TV awhile, I was...

    Some good stuff happening

Today I picked up a 22" LCD TV for the garage that I had a line on a couple days ago. The seller didn't reply before but today said he'd been out of town. Fine with me. The little Viore TV works well... except that apparently the IR sensor is broken. I put fresh batteries in the remote but...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Thanks guys! Am looking forward to getting to the point where I can actually paint the thing! ;) After working on getting the garage in better shape during the day today, the boy and I actually did some KF work after dinner tonight! :p The goal was to provide adequate clearance for the 3/4"...
