    Water flow on muffs question

I reinstalled the drive last week and finally got around to starting the boat 350 magnum mercruiser 1995 Rinker. I let the muffs run a few minutes before starting, fired it up and it took a few moments to fill the engine and start flowing out the transom. It took some time but the temp...

    How to bleed trailer brakes

I replaced my drum brake system last year. Bleeding was easy. You need leverage so I removed the ball and tongue from the receiver and installed the ball on the hitch. Then you lean on the tongue to activate the master. I put a catch cup on the bleeder screw starting from the furthest brake...

    How to reposition lift rams

I put the battery back in, powered it down and got the pin back in and its done. Thanks again I saw a post by Chris where he added a trim switch on the stern. That looks like an awesome idea. That would come in handy while on the water as well.

    How to reposition lift rams

Looks like I will need to install the battery for this. I did try to compress the piston with a ratchet strap but it would not budge. Thanks. I know what needs to be done now.

    Wheel Bearing Inspection Interval

I stopped using Timken because they are made in Chyna. Check a brand called BCA. I found that they repackage Japanese bearings like NSK under their name, but the bearing is etched NSK at half the price. I use them on my 4Runner.

305 V8 - Rusty spot on intake manifold, with ports that nothing is connected to

There is no exhaust near that rusty bit. It was a mount for a choke assembly. Just remove it and repaint the intake to stop the rust.

Lifting boat off trailer to repair bunk

Thats how I did mine last spring. Got it all prepped before going to the lake. I drilled just one hole in each bunk at home as a starter so I could mark the other holes on location. By myself, it took 20 minutes in the parking lot while my wife prepped the boat for the day. I also stapled the...

    Trailer Axle Wear Sleeve Alternatives?

With your part number, check with rockauto.com. $23 plus shipping. And the permatex aviation sealer is what I used as well. to install it, I found an exhaust pipe transition piece that fit the sleeve perfectly for $5 at oreilys auto parts. Plumbing pipes were either too big or too small. Use...

    Winterization

The best laid plans. Took my time to winterize the boat few weeks back and got it all done. I drained it all down, then back filled with AF (green stuff Prestone). Just on a hunch, I decided to test the protection level of the coolant. It was somewhere between -10 and -15 on the scale. Very...
