Possible, but could also be the antisiphon valve was stuck and during the removal/reinstall it freed up
The 1/4 antisiphon valve is to small for the motor, need at least a 3/8
No, but it could have been out for a while and pulling just made it showed it's head. Could also be that pulling it moved the gimbal enough to make it not align. Could be its fine just needs the bearing moved a tad
A boat can go its entire life and never be touched, but if it gets out and not...
Everything is NEW which means your looking through the gimbal bearing at the coupler. The gimbal bearing is most likely not 100% true to the coupler bore
Put the alignment bar in the bearing and move it around and then try to push it into the coupler to see how close you are
As Scott said easy enough to do, I repaired one with using stuff-it and epoxy resin and cloth. Someone leaned the board over a running trucks exhaust pipe so it melted a round hole partly thru
With all due respect
The Verado was and is designed to be a power hungry machine and requires a higher current delivery system then other 4 stroke motors. On the low side the Alt is 85 amps, the high side is 115 amps
I'm no expert on any outboard, but the OEM does not make Bats and doesn't make...
Being a 2022 it will have keep alive power connected and there is a small drain even when Bat switches are turned off. If Bat switches are not turned off there is a bit more power draw
Boat needs to have a charger plugged into shore power
I use Odyssey Bats, there expensive but last
As mentioned need motor running under load to check vacuum
Vac fuel pressure Gauge
The test gauge measures both. I mentioned Vac because it can be connected easier because it's placed in line with the rubber fuel line coming from the tank. Fuel pressure at the carb is best method and requires...
Normally a new motor would be solid, but if fuel system (carb in this case) is running lean it can warp valves and damage pistons
You could do a easier test with a vacuum gauge on the line coming from the fuel tank to the fuel filter. If you get less than 0.5 Hg then your good. More than that...
They can be rebuilt easy enough
Could most likely be able to find a used/rebuilt one on offshore only swap thread
Could also replace with one that doesn't use the fuel pump combo and add an electric fuel pump
You turned it over a little by hand so doubt it's the flywheel teeth. It has to be the starter. Try bench testing it and see if the gear moves all the way out
