That hose coming from the transom is what supplies raw water to cool the motor, the obstruction is the water pump in the lower unit.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Welcome aboard Moserkr, I've seen some good things happen to old bad boats but oh man that boat you got there isn't one of them  that color combo 😂 Don't mess with leaky fuel tanks, just get rid of them. I'm sure that SHSU has eyed every prefab fuel tank out there last year looking...

What did I do wrong with Transom?

And installed the SW too, must have partially filled with water and sat submerged for years then.

    Center console project

Yes those are the braces that these SC boats over 16' really should have. 16'rs just don't seem to have the problem. Not sure I know what you mean to use the adhesive for, gluing the braces rather than solid riveting?

    Center console project

Welcome aboard, I see you're doing a Holiday to Mariner conversion. All the deck bracing looks really good. Some info for you and something to think about. That era of SC has no hull braces that isolate the spray rail chine right above the seam. That is a known failure point where the side...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Well I guess having that long boating season makes for more troubles. My Chief has been winterized for over a month now and the SS is tucked inside the garage under a cover. Would love to be out on the water in shorts and a t shirt right now, driving on this ice and snow is not much fun. You...

    22' Islander rebuild

Nice to see an Islander thread where a guy isn't wanting to tear the boat apart to have some open tub with a tiller.

What did I do wrong with Transom?

Epoxy with cloth or not if left exposed without anything in the way UV protection will ruin the epoxy and allow water to rot the wood.

Yeah the Sylvan is a Starcraft as is Smokercraft as is Starweld. It's all good. I like that you too enjoy the pillaging of worthless glassers in the pursuit of glorious old tin! 😅

    1961-1963 Starcraft Jet

Welcome aboard, I would say the little runabout has had a tough life over the years, what's the plan for it now? Look at the brochures and match the dimensions to your boat.

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

One thing that causes the gunnels to have flex when stepped on while boarding, is the distance without support from the gunnel to the side tray. A support can be added where the step pad is to lessen that give.

    1983 starcraft rebuild

Welcome aboard, Oh boy that transom was mulch. The decking fastener standard is the LF blind rivets but others have used screws instead. Not sure about riv nuts but it also depends on your preference on deck covering and method. Some of us have countersunk the rivet heads and put vinyl deck...
