    Sadly a lot of motors will suddenly be for sale.

    Pay a GOOD mechanic to go with you to check out any " great bargain ". The odds against finding a good one. 1 out of 50 thousand. Do not buy used or dealer new. They have flooded new motors to sell also. Life can be very cruel sometimes. Good luck to everyone.

    Finally can troll for 1 hour none stop. With CLEAN sparkplugs.

    It was those rubber gaskets shifting around. Preventing 143 F engine temperature. ALL Start and Run problems are gone. No black soot on center of the plug. :) (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

    What brands of batteries still have full sized filling caps ?

    The tiny cheapo push in plugs are terrible to fill accurately.

    I cut the wrong pump wire. :mad: Oh well. Strip and temporary reconnect the good pump wires. The 2 nd pump is in shipment. NAPA cheapest size 24 battery is $125 . OOWWW

    Another ? Surprize Solved

    Bought the Harbor fright Timing light. Idle timing degrees is . Minus 40 degrees. :) That is the good news. A Retarded timing due to a sheared flywheel Crescent key. Oh well. Have the mechanic pull and replace the parts. (y)

    Anybody have the correct Ignition Degree values for IDLE and W O T degrees ?

    I can not find thrm for my 1986 28 SPL motor. Really the same as a 30 hp motor. Or so I have been told at the dealer ships. Thank you.

    My 1986 Evinrude 28 SPL lost the small Cam Follower.

    Wondered why new plugs are getting dark and oily. The engine no longer has a tiny Cam Follower. Anyone have a part number and source ? It is identical to a 30 hp engine. Thank you.

    I was over due for this to happen.

    I put a 1/2 of a can of Sea Foam into each gas tank. Engine was getting harder to start. Finally would not start. Pulled outlet Primer Bulb hose off. Squeeze the bulb. Will not build up pressure correctly. O K need a bulb. Then take the small gasoline filter apart. Looks milky. Smell it . No...

    How many of us have a GREEN Seahorse motor ?

    I am curious as to those who had varnished cork floats. That loved to cause flooded engines after about 5 to 10minutes. I spent several hours before I found that was the problem.

    Guess Who needed a tow home ?

    No spark. Should be the still original Man Overboard Switch. Friend towed me to the dock area. I rowed into the slip space. Plenty of old guys to have fun with as they helped me tie up. Wife took me out for lunch. I have finally mellowed. :)
