    Pigskin Pick’em

Having been a Bills fan for more than a half-century, I do not guess on football game final scores, and that has just proven correct again. I looked at joining this one, because its such a great group of people - but at this point, I'll stick to the game plan.

    Cars you should have kept.

Wanted one of those - had a 1970 Buick Skylark, really liked that car, and you could work on it, knew a little, learned a lot

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

I gotta remember to put something like that up in the new-to-us boat lift up at camp so other people know when the boat is in the correct spot on the lift.

    Next time anchor.

Ya, people on boats, you never know. Anchored in current, experienced boaters/swimmers jumping off the bow, staying close to boat drifting gently, grab a line in water off the stern, back in boat, repeat when hot again. The ONE GUY touting his experience as a diver, finally gets hot, jumps of...

1986 Ski Nautique 2001 resto project

Helpful thread and pics, thank you! That boat looks great, definitely better cosmetically than our 1991 Mastercraft. We're OK mechanically, for now.

if it's going to be raft (and not a boat), and who knows how long it'll float, just cover-up the existing deck surface

    2025 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

As a Bills fan, that could work in the Bills favor, but probably doesn't matter anymore Then, of course, there's this... "An Ohio woman has sued Buffalo Bills first-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston, accusing him of sexually assaulting her in 2021 when they both attended the University of...

Need help with ID of what's left of an 18' alum boat.

That camper looks pretty-cool, and must be a hoot to pilot! Your sketch and plan to resto-mod the boat, then take an ocean voyage in it are inspiring. Your mariner-skills must be top-notch too. Looking forward to seeing/reading about your resto-mod and journey!

    Can You Wear This Shirt

There it is - punchcards! In our first college engineering classes, we used punchcards and FORTRAN 77, then it was an HP with RPN. I still miss RPN, and sometimes try to use it on my little hand-held computer (aka "phone").

VP 5.7 gsi - Temperature Rising

Rust and stuff in the cooling system? The risers on my "VP" V-8 had some in there when we put a new long-block in there a number of years back. After they were cleaned-up and reinstalled, the cooling-system in that boat worked great for quite some time.

Cool day on the river yesterday

The kids musta loved it, thanks for sharing! We had a great day out on 7th Lake in the Adirondacks with our son and wife running her Mom's boat out of their beautiful camp's boathouse on 7th lake, while our grandkids tubed. We stopped at "the beach", met some very nice people (we ended-up...

Same for us and the upper Niagara River/Lake Erie area - weather forecasts always watched closely to decide where to go for the day/night/etc

    Worst day

A common saying about the two best days of having a boat... I disagree.. the Admiral and I sold the 1998 25ft Wellcraft last week - very sad for me. Sure, she was a bunch of work, sure, but that's OK (especially with the help and support of the good people here). Now I'll focus on our other...

Bimini top seems to have shrunk

The order in which they're installed and ultimately snapped makes a difference. I wonder if the every couple years cleaning and spraying with water repellant has helped in this regard
