Can I swap factory tilt/trim from Mercury version 85hp to US Marine version 85?

in 89 they changed water pump styles. Not positive but they might swap(not parts, whole pumps) They introduced the Hell Drive and needed a stub shaft to connect to the L drive. I believe in 90 when they started on the 90/120/150 they standardized the gear ratio. They all had the same ratio at one...

You have 2 Force motors. Both 85 Neither 85 had anything to do with Mercury, Mercury came in later after the 85 turned to a 90. The color has a lot to do with the difference between the T@T. Blue Force 85 was made from 87 to 89 White 85 was from 1983 to 86 The 85 T2T could fit both white and...

1984 force 125 fuel pump question?

Some of the products your buying could be 10-20 years old. One tiny backfire or cough can cause the diaphragm to rip. If you have reoccurring problem?? install 2 diaphragms in the pump. Like Racer said, use the Mercury products.

    88's Gamefisher impeller parts

Most times the impeller is all you need. Unless the housing is REALLLLY bad I wouldn't change it. Take it apart and get some pics. and post them.

Spark plug wires on an 89 Force 50 hp

The boots changeable. A touch of Dialectric grease on the end of the plug might help with the rust. But too much will cause the boot to fall off. Some cases the wire needs to be helped, use shrink tube and Liquid Electric tape to cover the wire.

    Force Outboards Rated By Model

Topgun was right about the 70 and the Helldrive. The one carb on the 70 was a real bad idea. They cooked more #1 cyl. because of the crappy design. I didn't like the 150 all that much either.

    50 hp high speed misfire

ANYTIME!!! you have a miss you should do the starting fluid test. Start the motor, spray starting fluid around the intake side . This includes under the coil/pack bracket the carb bases and around the port covers. If the spray makes any difference?? then it's got a bad gasket and sucking air.

Do all forces have overheat buzzers?

IF??? your motor came with the controls?? then it might have a buzzer. TEST: turn key on(not running) then ground the orange lead from the back of the motor. That should make the buzzer sound off. The controls might have the buzzer built into it.
