    I did that with a 40 or 50 year old riding mower. One spring the paint layers just allowed the parts to fall off of the blade deck. No machine has ever come close to it.

    Fear sells a lot more product. If the seals leak in water ? No Super Better brand of oil is going to provide great protection. Buy the correct weight of gear oil. Billions of oil changes have proven that. Forever At boat marinas every year.

    1975 evenrude cooling issue

    Remove thermostat ? Engine WILL run too cold. Sparkplugs become filthy BLACK and start random misfiring. Also builds up hard black carbon in the cylinders. Which can lead to PRE IGNITION destroying plugs and pistons. Stop being a redesign engineer. Find the defective parts.

    Nothing beats more than 3 engines not running right. I will raise you by 2 more. Law of averages does not work with very used and abused engines.

    Does it have REED VALVES ? Did the Ultrasonic Cleaner knock some small carb part loose ? Out of sight and loose in a carb passage ? I have forgot a tiny round gasket around a main jet. Ran terrible. 4 th careful rebuild I found the new gasket on the floor.

    Post # 25 is EXCELLENT advice on any splined shaft rework. I STAMP LIGHT chisel marks onto BOTH parts of any coupling setup. BEFORE pulling them apart. Makes for a easier reassembly and a quieter spinning part again.

    2001 BMW Z3 battery runs down after 3 weeks.

    He is going to leave it alone. Realized that he had not used it for 4 weeks due to cold weather. Will run it every 2 weeks from now on. His call.

    Boat exhaust prep

    Be DARN SURE you ALWAYS slow down slowly. And idle several minutes to remove ALL that heat still in the engine block, heads and exhaust headers. ONLY run Marine Hi Test ....With NO Ethanol in it. Will last forever.

    I have 7 homemade 13.5 vdc at 1 amp maximum current. I C controlled chargers. I load test all the batteries every 3 to 4 years. Still great.

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

    A too low of a hitch weight. WILL cause a CONSTANT swaying left and right of the trailer. Which WILL WILL cause the tires to heat up. BOOM For no apparent reason. Some people only adjust the hitch weight to whatever they can lift onto the towing ball. Not good enough.

    Mercruiser 5.0L MPI Not Starting, I was driving the boat at a slow pace and it slowly stalled/stopped

    Burned / melted sparkplugs ? Low compression ? Valves sticking open. Loads of black carbon stuck inside of cylinders. Orange spark. Run it. Until it stops. Done
