helm wiring, should be simple, i'm not too bright.

So here where I was at yesterday before the real heat kicked in. I've been working g at the side of the boat from the driveway u til I get dialed, then will mound all up under the helm and dress the wires and functioning, however note nothing hooked to negative buss. Original harness hooked...

I didn't want to restore this 1997 Islander this summer

Good deal. FYI on my 18, more skinny boat on gluvit would have been fine for the rivets alone but missed a couple three sections and had already slathered on what I thought was extra. When it dries it gains color to see better where you might have missed so I bought another and slathered...

No need to be a snob. 26 years on the forum with less than a hundred posts shouldn't be the hill you choose to die on. Language changes, try reading Shakespeare or any text from someone under 25 years old...

No, but in today's world there should be someone you can pay to 3d print something, or get creative with some wood.

    Summer Night Fishing

As a kid back in the late 70s would go camp for the night with friends and catfish from the bank. Campfire, MD2020 and or some herbs to compliment out fire roasted hot dogs.

    Motor Replacement

Cool, not much more than a like for like whole swap. If me, I'd do the rebuilt powerhead if I trusted my mechanic. Just my .075 cents worth of opinion.

Get out of your own head. When you are on the water with the boy and you KNOW everything is good you will not regret anything you did this year. I was there with you, about this stage. In pushing 60 with a grandkid on the way (hoping for a girl I can make into a tomboy) and that kept me going.

My umbrella covers all that and in case you didn't notice my screen name I can get a case of beer for my other boating friend to have a day on the lake pulling the boat out all but environmental and the 12 gallons of fuel or less I carry won't mean crap here in TN.

    Replacing bow seat foam

I'll third or fourth the electric carving knive, i used a couple boats ago and get one for fileting fish so it does not sit in the garage for years not being used. Small fish are easy but when I order a whole fish 5 lbs plus the electric is nice.

    Insurance

I only insure my boats for liability using my umbrella policy. Anything under 20k or so i consider a disposable toy. At 11k, and still depreciating, think about is it worth the cost to keep insured for loss? Add up couple three years of premiums, look for the boat to lose 1/4 at least of its...

    Motor Replacement

If you find same era motor labor should be a few hundred bucks, at least around here and any shade tree mechanic with an engine hoist or you with a harbor freight pully and a tree can do. Swapping like for like takes just a couple three hours tops. If you do find same family, keep the old...
