    you can. some of the 3.0's came with 2.5 heads. not much changed in the heads when they stroked it until after 1990

    blower motor will be either a 3" or 4" start with what is there and then get the same. bilge pump may be a lowly 500 GPH or 800 GPH pump. I would go with a 1200 GPH pump myself.

    Nothing here Co-worker had 2 feet of water (river front in parish) AMI and St Armands still have flooding. St Pete/Clearwater barrier islands are still a mess

    Looking at the crack without context is meaningless. Step back 15 feet and take the pick with the whole hull. The issue is the ranger is a low-end fiberglass bass boat with a design life of 15 years. So depending on how the boat was treated, could be signs of other structural issues.

    Rather buy a flooded marine motor that was properly addressed than a neglected and unknown motor

    Is the 555 in good shape? After 52 years, most likely the prop on the boat is correct and either the boat is waterlogged or the motor is tired

    There are only 7 moving parts in the Holley 2300. Less than 30 parts total. Clean out the passages, make sure the accelerator pump circuit and idle circuit passages are clear

    Look at the link in my sig. One of the links in the first post has me using the XM264H on my 1988 AQ271 and DP290a1 drive. Your motor should have the posts machined to run roller cam

    You will want to make sure you have the marine intake. Also, run a 2" carb spacer
