    Cork float is soaking up gasoline. Buy NEW float . Been there. Some dissolved varnish may be on parts. But mine worked perfectly when replaced.

    Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

    Or you do a screw up like I did on the little Aluminum boat drain. Put the rubber expanding drain plug in. Finger tight. Replaced it 15 ? years ago. Will have to drill it out. Rubber cooked to drain tube. Oh well.
