Indicator light for bilge pump with built in float switch

No mods needed, keep what ya got, just need a current sensing switch/relay (example below) inline with the float lead (third wire).........If the float turns the pump on, you can call the cows home with this if you want. This one (others out there) ^^ assumes the pump will draw no less than...

1976 Tom Boy Boat, 1976 40 HP Johnson Outboard and who knows what Trailer

If I might offer a small mod/option to your low batt circuit? As designed(left bottom), the low batt indicator LED will be dimming/fading out linearly (See LED current, ID2) as B+ begins to drop due to the LED is being driven with a constant voltage source(B+). This is possibly not desirable...

Bought a new console for a pontoon boat, need help with wiring explanation

Piece of cake.........Study this a bit, it has your (Ig/motor harness) answers. Start with those basics first, we'll figure the few stragglers that are left out when you get a handle on this. The pdf attachment has better resolution, suggest downloading that to see listed wire colors better

Overheat Alarm Wiring Question: 1984 Mercury 200 HP

Correction from above 240F not 192/5F.....lol, not sure where those numbers came from, pretty much just made those up looks like, geeeesh  Merc calls it a "sender" but, more of a switch or a sensor IMO :juggle: Also, if I recall(low batting average today but........), the OT...

Tilt Motor Slow when both relays connected

Wait, don't pay anyone shet just yet!!! Okay so custom wired...sorta, A grounding signal from the up/down switch to energize the relays coils is fine (not standard however) BUT, running the relays with a 3 wire PPT motor is the problem!! A 3 wire (center tapped) motor is suppose to, for...

Tilt Motor Slow when both relays connected

No.....if 86 is "going to switch" as OP reports, the SPST up/down switches then feeds to each relay and is a switched 12V signal source via the red/white power wire.(See below) 85's therefor should be grounded. OP reports he's ran 85's (along with 87's) to the "power block". I assume being a...

Self Regulating AC Phase Controller for Heater

The power wires on the "heat proof" ceramic 200W Halogen bulb holder finally burn't/cooked themselves off their mounting post, good time to switch out.......... Switched over to this pad finally. Works great! These pads need a heat sink (oil pan) else the pad will self destruct in hours.

MERCURY TILT AND TRIM stuck in up pump keeps running

Start by pulling both relays, assure trim motor stops, replace one relay at a time, chase the relay's path up stream toward switches who when plugged back in, re-stated the motor.(This assumes the new relays and their harness are good) Might also pull the fuse while it's stuck on (both relay...

    Oddity Found In Engine

I bought a JDM engine (4th one from same source over the years) the other day to drop in GF's Honda (1.7L Vtec), I pulled a plug and shinned a flashlight in, noticed the below, pulled the head off after the few loose ones stuck to the magnet that I had initially dropped in through the spark plug...

    My Winter Hobby

Isn't quite the 3 phase I thought it was, the SH775 controller works but, doesn't look like it's turing on for one of the phases. It's designed more for phase angles around 120 degrees I think (no data sheet), not in the 30's..

    tach operation

Guessing here a bit...........The diode that failed in the rec module failure mode was probably a short/low low resistance fired pn junction. The tach signal wire (gray) is jumpered on the terminal block (see below) such that it is wired to the side (two sides available, Both AC, yellow and...
