    Battery combiner sudden load question

Hello everyone. I was thinking about building a battery combiner for my boat to have the engine charge my trolling motor batteries in between fishing spots. I typically sit for about 10 min at one spot and move to another one so I was thinking I could get some juice in on those runs. I am going...

what gauge wiring do you have currently, and how long are the wires? I hope the trolling motor was not tapped in to the main wiring in the boat, and the TM has its own battery right?

Suzuki DF250S pumping fuel into air intake

the ecm should have an electronic control to start and stop the lift pump which fills the VST. You can hear the lift pump run when you first turn on the ignition before starting the engine. Check that it stops when the VST is full.

    General MAP sensor question

Hello, I have a fairly general map sensor question. The engine is a 2008 DF200, but that is not really relevant. My map sensor was showing 117 kpa pressure when I removed it in my hand. I tried blowing or sucking on it but that does not change the reading. After tapping it against the intake...

Outboard repaint - need suggestions on materials

I actually prefer to tape them off then I don't mess up the bond or cover the bonding area or threads with paint. Maybe there are other reasons to remove that I don't know about? Anyways I managed to get the first basecoat down today on the hood and lower unit. Full hiding will be achieved after...

Outboard repaint - need suggestions on materials

I did look through that thread, and it seems like bud used the valspar stuff. Seems like it is the acrylic urethane. BUT that was a SS paint, I am going BC/CC. I guess I will try find polyurethane CC and then if I can't I guess I will be fine with the acrylic. Once I am done I will post back...

Outboard repaint - need suggestions on materials

I do have the compressor and HVLP gun. I don't need to do a colour match since I am doing the entire engine. I don't think it is ok to use brightside for underwater use. I was going to go to a paint shop and buy some of the PPG stuff for BC/CC system, but I don't know what to ask for, acrylic or...

Outboard repaint - need suggestions on materials

yep, I did too. Except that my 200 took about 10 of them. Here they are $20 each, and then the paint quality did not turn out well. for smaller jobs like lower units they are nice, but not for a total repaint.

Fairing a big dent in the curved part near the bow - need help/advice

Well, in case anyone has the same challenge I faced, I found something that worked pretty darn well. Grab a chunk of 60 grit, and get a piece of wood about 1/4 inch thick. Staple the sandpaper onto the board, and press the board against the hull. The board will bend and take shape of the hull...

Outboard repaint - need suggestions on materials

Hello I needed a new hood for my 'zuke, so I got one for cheap, but it was real sun faded, with the paint all flaking away. I sanded it and painted with merc rattle cans (took about 7 of them) and it did not turn out well, quite dull, and I must have not sanded enough, because the texture was...

Mercarb idle speed screw and adjustment

YES! it should not move. The choke cam is not really a fast idle cam, it is not eccentric, i.e it has no camminess to it, it is perfectly round. It will not change the throttle plate position no matter what the choke position is. What it IS for, is when you have a warm motor, the idle stop screw...

New to Forum / New Boat / Selecting the correct prop

for stainless, a laser II would be nice on that boat. If you want a budget stainless prop, get a solas, they sell them here on iboats, they are nice props albeit a little cheaper.
