    The flame arrestor is the same thing as the air filter/breather on a car. Its the aluminum color thing on top the motor It takes a but to bleed out all the air in the fuel rail before it goes smooth. If it starts doing it again will need to investigate

    Welcome, need more info on motor model It's a GSI what? Pumping the throttle on a EFI/MPI does nothing. Some if the throttle is moved close to 3/4 then fuel is shut off, this is flood mode.

    Coming up as a 1987 carb TB ignition and mechanical fuel pump Do you know if it does it quicker if it has a full tank of gas as opposed to half tank? Can you dump the contents of the fuel filter in a clear container to see if there is anything but clean clear gas?

    Installed new module and it fired right up. Bilge needs to be repainted, cutlass bearing replaced, new drip-less seal, prop is back from shop. Hope in a week or so might have it back in the water. Picking up Grandson Friday so I'm not going to be doing much with the boat until we take him...

    ok, I can see it, but it's so close really didn't know what it was That's the engine breather hose. It connects under the flame arrestor or right beside it. If the motor has any oil vapors they are drawn into the motor and burned

    I would leave it as-is, the boat has not been tested on the water. You did a tune up so it might be just fine

    Just guessing but you may have blown the fuse in post 18 when you mentioned jumping the solenoid. Said it was running after jumping

    Should have around 14.5V at the Bat, might be an Alternator problem 11.3V at the coil is a bit high Does the coil get hot when running?

    With a kinked hose it stays cooler then when its not kinked Is the thermostat in stalled in crossover? Check the vanes on the circulating water pump. With hose removed use a long thin screwdrive and put up inside. See if it will make contact with the vanes and see if you can keep the pump...

    You need a voltmeter Might be the 90 amp fuse on the starter post. Inside it is a fuse
