Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

I did the Bayliner too. Kinda' funny for me that for the most part "winterizing" is just pullin' the block drain and shovin' it back in the garage. But we won't get a chance to go back out until December at the earliest ... and the Admiral isn't much of a winter boaterette.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

There are three, maybe four now, ships at Jamestowne in Virginia: The Susan Constant & Godspeed are the two I know for sure. They're as close to original as they felt they could build them, and don't carry engines on board. The Susan Constant sails a couple times per year I think: don't need...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Took a nice ride on Dale Hollow Lake yesterday outta' Sunset Marina. Hadn't been on this lake in a few years. Very pretty day, and the food at the marina restaurant was top notch

Remove quadrant gear and Stern leg is stuck in down position

Dunno' about attracting dirt and grit, but I never greased those gears. Cleaned 'em often enough, but never greased them.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Very cool @sphelps : did they have engines on that one? I got to see the Niña in Knoxville a few years ago. I was surprised at how small it was, but the guys sailing her said it was pretty close to the right size of the original. She was fitted with a couple of engines due to regulations based...

    Need to ID motor

Outboardbooks.com BUT - just a word of "caution." This drive is old, obsolete, finicky and parts are getting harder to find for them. The OMC Electric shift was done by 1977, and OMC was gone by the mid-90s. It's an antique drive and it will take time and attention in the garage. A lot of...

Scott beat me to it. Full electric shift. Even has the outboard "arm" steering.

Wanna' get some photos of the drive up so we can see if they help a little?

    Need to ID motor

Welcome aboard. 1979 shouldn't be electric shift. They were into hydro-electric for a couple years at that point. Look for an OMC tag with a model number around the engine mounts. Model number would read something like "990267S1 1979." Also put a few photos up ... that'll help narrow things...

    GPS Location APP

One incident I was a part of had the patient (heart issue) loaded on the whirly ... in the air; with priority routing to through the Nashville TCA ... headed to Vanderbilt. ... until ... The patient fought the crew that he wanted St Thomas Hospital instead: so they re-routed mid-flight. Same...

    GPS Location APP

I fly SAR missions in fixed wing aircraft mostly in areas I'm not super familiar with - sometimes I've got to talk a ground unit into the area. It isn't as easy as it sounds, but often you can find an obvious landmark and tell 'em look for this on your route ... target is 3mi at 090º. Helps the...

    GPS Location APP

I would think the emergency management stuff should be tied into GIS data somehow. There's a way to get GPS coordinates to the aircrew en route - if nothing else, one of the uniforms on the ground can just pop open their phone for a "close enough." Incident command system should have standards...

Advice: Rock Shore Line - Mooring, Docking, Anchoring

WOW ... I totally missed the "purchased" part  Floating dock, like ahicks said. They use 'em quite a bit here in TN on the rivers and the impounds.

Advice: Rock Shore Line - Mooring, Docking, Anchoring

Tie off the front on shore, and anchor off the back to keep it off the rocks ... might have to get your feet a little wet. Welcome aboard.

    OMC 5.7 Questions

I don't mind the I/O setup comparative to outboards. Each has it's advantages, though outboards have regained some ground in the last several years - so they are becoming more popular. Depending on the year of the OMC, there are still parts available and support. But OMC has been gone for a...

Remove quadrant gear and Stern leg is stuck in down position

Sorry Kenny - I didn't mean the drive was binding on the pivot caps. My thought was since he had the quadrant gear removed (Posts #7 & #9), the drive should lift freely. But he's saying it doesn't lift freely. Racerone is thinking it's binding on the two pins at the bottom of the intermediate...

    '94 Bass Tracker handling question

Is it a tiller steer or do you have a helm? The more shallow the hull is the more it won't "cut" through chop and waves. The hull will want to get on top of them more often than not and might (in some cases) "walk" on you a little bit. That's probably one of the big differences. Taking it slow...

Remove quadrant gear and Stern leg is stuck in down position

With the quadrant drive off, if the drive is "jammed" and won't raise - I would loosen the pivot caps to see if the ball gears have jammed up; remove the entire leg if necessary. BUT ... be careful of your shifting cables.
