    No, it does not take very much to do a nice job at home.-----Or if you doubt that run to your local machine ( $$$ ) shop.----Or use a piece of emery cloth.

    Heads are likely warped.----Need to be refinished.----A flat surface ( piece of glass ) and valve grinding compound does the trick.

    Well ---I can see the " picture " but I can't see whether it has an unmolested plug in for the tachometer.-----If you post a clear picture of below the ignition switch, I could tell you if it has that feature.-----Your boat is too far away for me to examine it.

    Fact is the new boats come with computers to help start / operate the motor.----People like that compared to old technology where you needed some training.------It is not cheaper , just user friendly.

    Good luck with the motor.----Usually the VRO plug for the " no oil alarm " is disconnected .----All that needs to be done.----Have you removed the pulse limiter ?---Part # of the replacement fuel pump ?
