Volvo Penta MD7A Thermostat Housing Leak

ok, not tight, then I do understand your concern No first hand knowledge, but there are higher pressure fuel lines that just use a O ring and a pin to keep in in. With just a little play and not being able to move it back far enough for it to disconnect, will figure its was designed that way...

ok, 350 to 350 swap, old motor did have the wrong ECM, got it No HP change This being a new to you boat then we need to determine, drive ratio, prop pitch and if the hull is water logged Disconnecting MAP makes the motor run outside of the ECM parameters and gets extra fuel and other things...

Volvo Penta MD7A Thermostat Housing Leak

The bushing is a seal and is designed to be tightened securely by just the thermostat housing being torqued to spec. The copper pipe is soft and would not be able to take very much tension. If it does leak it would most likely come from the rusting of the housing. Try to sand the area smooth...

A few instruments and gauges not working

That depends on "IF" spot 8 did power the gauges. If it did power the gauges then yes it should fix your issue. Now, most gauges are powered from the motor feed and not an auxiliary feed like what this one looks like. So again it will work if that is where the power comes from There is only...

    hard to run

As you know, if its not getting gas its not going to run. You sprayed gas in and it still will not run. Suggest doing a compression test and then need to find out if your getting good spark

    Trim/Tilt gauge is sticking

Your tapping on the gauge may have been coincidence. In most cases its the trim sensor on the outdrive and not the gauge. If it is the gauge, it just needs to be replaced, don't know of anyone repairing them, and most likely its cost prohibitive.

The wires are stand ABYC colors The pic are Mercruiser but wiring is same for your motor. Note the Yel/red goes from key switch thru neutral safety and to slave. The neutral safety switch can also have a bad connection Do agree with ding it is sounding that way

    Starter issues

Getting closer, the connections on the relay are clean and tight, and there should be a black wire which goes to ground Have you checked the Bat voltage? Should be close to 12.7V as full charge for lead acid. Can keep the meter on the Bat cable at the motor side and turn key to see if your...

    Starter issues

Probably a bad connection. If not that then either the key switch or the slave relay Look on the motor for a smaller wire coming off the starter and going to a relay, that would be the slave
