    New pistol for carry

I am old enough to remember the old days. Cast my own 148 gr wadcutters from scrap lead and wheel weights, around 2300 rounds per $8 pound of Bullseye. Primers at $5/1000 were the most expensive part.

    Submersible trailer lights

Actually the Amish in my area have all gone to LED's for increased battery life.

    Restoring my drive bell housing

I 'm with Poconojoe on the title. The first thing I thought was the 50 year old helmet still in my shop somewhere must have some value if someone is restoring one. Should have kept the old Indian Chief and thrown the helmet away. Would be dollars ahead today.

    New pistol for carry

A Mod 37 Airweight was my back up piece for many years. Loved it and when we would qualify both guns my score would only be a few points lower than with my 4" issue sidearm. It was also my personal carry piece until my present wife claimed it as her purse gun. Been looking at several small...

Is on deck fuel tank legal?

Even if legal to operate with a tank change I could see a problem if involved it some sort of accident and being sued. The first thing the plaintiff's attorney will ask is the installation meet all requirements of ABYC H-24 pertaining to installation of gasoline fuel systems.

    2 parking problems

Just hit the spikes strip on the drivers side, got this far and bailed out. Surprised the doors weren't left open.

Fish every where but not even a nibble

Get ready for Spring Speck. I was taking a cow up town to sell today and ran into a guy who needed a cow. I traded the cow for the five magic jig heads he offered me. Look out, I think the jinx is over. I was a little confused though as to why he kept calling me Jack.

    Livorsi Tach/Hourmeter

I don't know the wiring for you motor but I have had a couple pieces of equipment that would only register engine hours by means of an oil pressure switch. One had an actual analog Hobbs brand meter.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

I was trying to guess that myself. One clue is the Spanish flag on the side. Jacksonville?

    Broken 1985 Johnson 200 GT

Need a little more information. Does it start and run at all? What are the readings for compression in all 6 cylinders? What's the spark distance on a tester? Once we know that that are a lot of good people on here that can help.

    Livewell pump question

Misread where the water was coming in from. The pump should pump to a outlet higher that the full line of the livewell which also is higher than the outside water line. Need some pictures of the plumbing to figure it out.

    Livewell pump question

The bottom drain is made to drain the live well when the boat is out of the water. It should be plugged when on the water. There should be another drain at the full line and drain out either through the side of the boat or transom when the pump has filled the livewell so it doesn't overfill...

So, what did you do today?

Just realized yesterday while cutting the grass I had more engine hours on my John Deere than on my boat this Summer. Missed most of July when I had to install new injectors in my pickup.

Trolling power supply question (12v or 24v lower assembly unit replacement)

Not familiar with that motor but will try to help. 3. Easy answer is no such thing as too much thrust. Your motor is listed at 45# which should be adequate for that boat. No matter how big your motor is you will probably encounter a strong enough wind someday to wish you had more. 1. I...

Fish every where but not even a nibble

Nope, 3/16 oz round head jig with either white or chartreuse 1 1/2" twister tail. The same lures I have not been catching fish with ever since Aspeck put the jinx on me.

    Is My Mercury Prop Spun?

Look on the back of the tach and there should be an adjustment marked for the number of poles or pulses. If I remember right it should be set at 12 for your motor.

    Is My Mercury Prop Spun?

Check with a prop shop. Haven't had one done for years but probably about 1/4 of what a new one costs. It's a good thing to always have a spare even if it not in perfect shape or the ideal pitch.

14 row boat to center console

Agree that it is easier to dock. Since I do 99% of my fishing with just my dog and me and the fact that I am 82 years old it is much easier to just ease in to the dock, reach out and grab a cleat and if the wind is against me throw a line onto the cleat and I am done without ever leaving my...
