Put some blue stuff back in. I used some lubermatic stuff once with similar colors. After draining it, the dealer and I determined that it wasn't water and the oil itself had separated.
Not sure if that is what happened to you but trying your blue stuff would confirm either way.
What brand did...
Trueing up the head and installing a new head gasket is WAY less work than an entire teardown, sooo... easily worth the time and effort.
Watch the start of this video to see how easy it is....there's many videos online.
I have a 16 ft lund that my 30 is on and I am thinking of swapping it out. Do you know if those are both rated at the prop? (HP) again, 87 30hp 96 25hp
You want to test voltage at individual spots to properly test what might be wrong. Your looking for 12.6 volts or so so start at the battery and work your way around here is a short video of what I mean.
Cool, thanks for the reply. $300 for a power pack is basically the average so nothing there to note. I think it might be a better troller than my 87 30hp but we will see.
I would triple check the coil wires from the power pack to the coils.
Orange/blue (sky) top coil orange/green (grass) bottom coil. 9 out of 10 times on here that is what's wrong when someone posts the scenario you describe.
Here is the parts breakdown for this motor. No sign of a vro or oil pump.
Everything looks factory and the owner is a very old man that would appear to keep everything stock. Original paperwork, nice stand and the motor was polished clean...
First off....I love the vro but this motor didn't come with one. Just picked it up....starts awesome and idles great. 125 on all cylinders. Motor, control box and fuel tank $300
Another idiot who bought a 4 stroke.
I have the opportunity to buy a 25 evinrude 3 cylinder 2 stroke. I've had many 2 cyl 2 strokes but not the three. Any known quirks I should know about? I'm thinking they probably idle slightly better. E25KLEDG
Anyhow, let me know.
I'm surprised you just "pushed the shift shaft" and it went into place. I have to loosen the two screws holding the gears in, slipping it out a little and then drop the shaft. I have no idea how you got it to drop.
I'm going to put it in a barrel soon but just pulling it it seems fine. Salt water environment yet it's as clean as a whistle.
I read something about 24 to 1 but I'm thinking with modern oils I can probably go leaner.
Looks like it's a 1958
