    I can backup Chris' statement. The previous owner of my boat did a re-deck and when I removed it the rest of the structure was toast! If you read through many of the rebuilds on here you'll see "the floor is the last to rot" mentioned somewhere.

    Any cracks in the transom area whether on the inside or outside are stress cracks indicating weakness.
