    Battery sparking

Dirty connections/bad wire....outboard starter was calling for more power than the wire/connections could provide. Check everything.

Best method for tilt tube removal, VJ90TLASB

I've taken many out with smaller motors but the bigger motors are tough because the weight on them. Not aware of any tool. Most of the time the problem is dried up grease and salt freezing up the steering cable. Cleaned out many of those. The bushings are just plastic depending on being...

    Kill Switch 1977 evinrude 25 25702H

Okay, your probes are in their correct locations so don't change those. Turn on your meter and then turn your dial to the bottom one that is just to the right of the 200 symbol. Should be nine clicks to the right. That is continuity. Now when you touch your two probes together it should beep...

Also, did you put the wire into the old rubber plug or did you splice it with a butt connector.

Your meter should have a continuity setting....or ohms. Tell you what, send me a picture of the front of your meter and I'll tell what setting and what to touch.

    Kill Switch 1977 evinrude 25 25702H

Wire coming out of power pack to plug could be damaged, plug install could be incorrect, new switch could be bad. Do you have a multimeter and do you know how to do a continuity test? My 77 35hp has a ground coming out of the power pack like this. Mines a control box but they should wire similar.

    Kill Switch 1977 evinrude 25 25702H

Is this a tiller motor? Wire goes through the rubber plug from the power pack, through the switch and over to a ground. (Grounds power pack when pushed) make sure wire is intact and it on a clean ground.

    76 Johnson 15 HP

The obsession is common with everyone here! Human nature really. When you get the carb apart post pictures of inside, maybe it's missing something. When you ran it on the lake today you should have shot a little bit of 2 stroke fuel in it at WOT just to see what happens. Back to the drawing...

Cannot reinstall lower unit on 1990 150 blackmax

Yes, if you greased the top of your driveshaft the shaft will not fully go in because of hydraulic lock....not sure you got that far though. Everything in neutrual and spin the flywheel while pushing...hopefully you have cleaned up all the studs and bolt holes. I watch 4 YouTube videos and...

    76 Johnson 15 HP

Here is how I remember. When in the boat and looking forward the left side is the port side. Both "left" and "port" have 4 letters. Starboard and right do not match. Easy way to remember.

    1992 Evinrude 150 Oceanpro

Shouldn't run it until alarm is hooked up. With missing t-stats there is a good possibility there was an issue. Temp sensor comes out of the back of the head....note wire color. I was thinking of an IR gun like this.

    1992 Evinrude 150 Oceanpro

Engine was designed to have t-stats. Perhaps you have some clogged passageways. Do you have any temp readings of each head? Is your overheat alarm working?

    Carburetor tuning on muffs

Might want to start all over with idle screws. Start 1 1/2 out from lightly seated. Then adjust each one. Then get it on the water and bomb around a little if it's running ok. Then dial in the carbs again for low idle fuel mixture.

What to jump on old Johnson 65HP

Lol, no problem. At this point hook up some fuel and water and see what is does? Without the plug in you will have to figure a way to kill it.
