Quicksilver grease - trailer and u-joints

Years ago, Mercury said 2-4-C was not usable in Wheel Bearings, but more recently I recall the Tubes saying it was usable. I can see somebody seeing that, and thinking "I got an old Tube of this back home...". A few weeks later they might be sitting on the Road, picking up little Pieces

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

I don't have anything Nice to say about TP props, except they are cheap. But you get what you pay for, they often had at least one blade that was Bent, as in different Rake, than the other 2. They also made a Weird Prop, a 4 blade(first strike against it) that had 2 sets of totally different...

Yours is probably more like this, non-user serviceable

Speakers in same compartment as gas tank?

Engineers can design the safest Systems in the World, but some Hamfisted Owner will go out of his/her way to Disable, or Override, just because it causes them a few Seconds of Inconvenience

Speakers in same compartment as gas tank?

A lot of Speakers are mounted where the Magnets are in the Bilge/Engine Compartment. Not likely an Issue, if there are enough Gas fumes in there to ignite, It probably would have blown up before the Radio/Stereo was cranked up.

Power tilt problem with 1989 or 1990 Mercury 115 hp inline 4 cylinder outboard

You say the Solenoid Clicks when the control is activated. If the clicking was intermittent, I would suspect the Wiring to the Control and the Control itself

    1984 Evinrude 25hp prop size

The thread got a little derailed, for me at least, when a 3rd Party piped in with having an 85. You were pointing out that the 85 used a Thru Hub. I figured it was the OP having an 85.

    1984 Evinrude 25hp prop size

Don't look like a Thru Hub as implied in Post #7.

Power tilt problem with 1989 or 1990 Mercury 115 hp inline 4 cylinder outboard

A Break in a wire can end up being an Intermittent problem. Could also be a grounding Issue

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

The Props(all 5 of them) were not the best Designs either. The 1966 100hp was a big improvement in gearcase design, but 1969 was the big year for the V4s

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Shatters the old "I put a Speed Prop on, and gained 7 mph" fallacy that we have heard from Frogmouth boaters for Decades. About 50 years ago, I too did similar trials, and discovered that MPH remained very much the same with Acceleration being the Variant. On the 1960s OMC V4s with their tiny...

They switched to the 35 gearcase that early? Oh well, the chart for the 35 thru hub will be fairly close

20-25 spline drive are the choices, with OMC's slightly optimistic projections of boat sizes and speeds. I always found going to the next smallest from their Recommended to be more suitable

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Never heard of Vesselview before today. Think what you want, but a one inch pitch difference on pretty much any Outboard or I/O is going be a 200 rpm change. A 800 - 900 change is something else, Blow out from Exhaust, Ventilation from Surface Air, or severe Cavitation.
