    I think the 18'ers are to short. how do you plan to use them? I'd look for a 24 foot tube with a matching or slightly larger diameter of the the outer tubes. mount that even with the front of the outers. that 45 hp will not be enough in the wind. but it will get you on the water.

    the black box in your 2nd pic is the tilt relay box. it has a couple relays and a limit switch inside. the tilt motor is below that box. the box should turn on top of the tilt mechanism, but should not move up and down. don't overtighten it.

    I had concidered going to electronic ignition but ince I got my points and timing adjusted properly, it didn't seem necessary. I still have points. they both work. have you done a compression test?

    you don't have any trim options. sounds like it might not be the right fit for you. I have issues myself in shallow water. trim up halfway in forward at idle speed only. buy enough props and you learn where not to go.

    I think "way low"is a bit overstated, it looks just past halfway up the toons. it appears you have 20' logs on your 21' boat. I agree that the strakes are lifting you out of the water, which is their purpose...but not very helpful. moving weight shouldn't be necessary but I agree a better...

    prices have been pretty crazy these days, so it's hard to say. however, a boat that age would be showing some wear by now. condition is everything with boats. a new interior could cost 5000+/-.

    I checked out that liberator top, looks cool. but that Bimini looks like it's part of the cover system, not a regular Bimini... maybe you need a hard top with snap on sides, etc.

    there is a limit switch in the relay box that stops the tilt motor when it is all the way down. if that switch isn't working, it won't go down at all. the limit switch is centered in the box with the button going down through the box to contact the shaft that goes up and down. check it out.

    sounds like it's the cap on top of the strainer to the heat exchanger. keep in mind that the higher the rpm, the more water will be pumped, so maybe it's just a leaking cap or missing gasket on the cap.

    https://www.volvopentastore.com/mall/image/view/7/8/26981_1.png it sounds like you have a short hub outdrive. in the pic #43 is a metal ring with tabs that lock the cone instead of the bolt. the pic shows the bolt also, but it wasn't always used.

    I did it in my driveway. I could hear the air leaking. if it doesn't leak, it will hold the pressure.
