2001 2960 with dual 5.0 GL PEFS Motors fuel issue

Others opinions may vary but there is no vapor lock with a carb. Your motor is warmed up and after shutting down, it may be leaking or evaporating fuel from the bowl, but the fuel pump should refill quickly. What might be happening is the power is not making it to the pump. VP uses diodes and...

I'm no artist but bunch of wires don't work for me You have points Remove all wires off the coil except the distributor (dizzy) wire going to the negative side of the coil Loosen the dizzy, remove the cap, then turn the dizzy so you can see the points open/close. That works Attach a jumper...

Stated problem: No water coming from the pump Need to find out why water isn't flowing. Its either not getting to the pump, or not getting from the pump to the thermostat housing. Don't know why anything would clog, but the oil cooler and PS cooler are not under the motor, Suggest back...

Volvo Penta 8.1 PFI missing on 3,5,7 and 8

This is the GXI-C/D and may help. The injectors have full time 12V via the Pink/white coming from the main power relay (MPR) then goes to a connector which its split into Pink and Pink/White wires. They are batched fired by applying a ground by the ECM The coils are all powered by the...

Volvo Penta 8.1 PFI missing on 3,5,7 and 8

Looks are deceiving, might look good but there is a connection in the harness or connector which is not making contact. Swapping is not the issue, need to find out why the coils are not firing. This is why wires need to be ohmed out (ring out). The coils just like the injectors and feeds...

    Fuel system selector/shutoff valve

No, pump the throttle just pumps what is in the carb. If nothing is in the carb, there is nothing to pump If you have mechanical fuel pumps, crank 10 seconds, let sit for 30 seconds and repeat. Do that twice then try a couple pumps and crank Can also drip just a very slight bit of gas down...

    Frustrated fuel

Are you asking about the 300 rpm's? If so, for the ECM to turn ON the injectors it first has to see that the distributor is firing. If the Tach doesn't show the rpm's then either the Tach doesn't work or the distributor isn't firing
