Where do I belong? Alum Goods 1687, SS16 Clone?

Going back to your earlier post about engine mounting, transom build up, etc. Motor bracket does not need to rest on top of transom. Most don't. Motor needs to be mounted at height so that the anti-ventilation plate on the motor, (the one just above the propeller), is about 1" (2.54 cm )...

    Boat ID

It should be on the registration card. And on the title. Model number should be on the coast guard placard near the helm. HIN should be imbedded in the fiberglass on the transom, top starboard side. Could be stamped into the glass, or on a metal tag attached to transom.

    Submersible trailer lights

When I was younger, I had a set of trailer lights that were great. 4" diameter glass tube, about 5' long. It was strapped to the frame rail on each side. A lit candle was placed on the forward end of the tube When the horse slowed up, the candle would tip forward and light a second candle...

Trying to date this photo by the age of the boat...

There is no pin stripe, thats a rub rail. They all had them. There is no wider band of color, Starcrafts had no markings or stripes below the rub rail. Thats likely a side bunk on the trailer. Starcraft did not make trailers, so that is no clue. The seat for the driver ? which one would that...

    Tire Pressure

Yes. Be concerned that the world is full of too many gadgets and people are forgetting to do routine maintenance and checks. Gadgets can fail. People can fail. Rookies at the tire shop can fail.

    Wood floor covering options

I sealed mine with spar varnish, then vinyl over the top. Have some exposed wood on my boat, and that was just double coated with spar varnish. Has held up very well for 8 years.

    Another winterization question

"Wind chill" is a "feels like" number based on the rate that heat is dissipated . Inanimate objects don't feel. Once an object reaches the actual temperature, wind, or wind chill no longer affects it. It can only get as cold as the actual temperature of the air.

1982 Merc 90 HP not starting

Motor in neutral or forward? Motor must be in neutral to start. Prop should not turn with flywheel if its in neutral. Remove sparkplugs and see if it turn/spins easier.

    Tilt and trim help

Since they are relatively cheap, I would replace both relays. They should be the same as a standard relay used in cars for the last 5 decades, so you can save a few bucks by buying them at you nearest auto supply store. Look around under the cowl and you'll find them, 2 -- 1" square cubes...

2004 Mecury 90 hp wont start

Follow this starting procedure. Open fuel tank vent Check the kill switch, place in "run" position Squeeze fuel primer bulb till firm. Advance the throttle 3/4 way or more, without putting it in gear. -- This is done by either pushing a button in the center of the controls, or pulling the...

    House Battery Issue

Sure. Remove it. Charge both batteries. Then see if all works. Don't know what brand relay you have, but there must be a way to test it. In my experience, most shops probably won't help, but will talk you into buying a new one.

    VIN Info on Trail-Rite Trailer

I'm pretty sure you are out of luck. I doubt they guess the missing numbers even if they were still in business. If you need this for registration/titling, it should be on the paperwork you received when you bought it. If you received no paperwork, you are likely in for an uphill battle anyway...

Boat going in reverse instead of forward

Today at 1:58 AM Have to clear things up a little. What motor do you have? I ask because there was no Force 115 hp made in 1996. The last Force 115 was made in 1983 when Chrysler owned them. In 1996, they made a 90 hp 3 cylinder, and a 120 hp 4 cylinder model. By 1996, all Force motors were...

    trailer unknow

My point was that the OP left us hanging without enough information. I know a tri-hull with an i/o is likely not a 12 boat. But with a 1979 boat on an xyzzy made trailer, in an unknown state, with unknown requirements, with unknown documentation, and no photos, and no weight capacity stated ...
