Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

So hey... I've been modifying my backsplash well and removed molds to compensate for the overbuild on the transom by 1/2". FYI when I jumped into this I went boots first not head first so as ALLLLL of you know the learning curve never ends. With the mods and being short on the $$ I actually...

So I was placing , fittin and cutting stringers and bulkheads. I dink I'm gonna take Minch's idea and work the fishwells in. The space for the old gas tank was pretty oversized and foamed out like no tomorrow. I can make the room work, add an add'l bulkhead, stringer and still be way...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Thanks for the feedback Mr. Phelps... So here I am working the stringers to fit and the bulkheads. Originally there were 2 fishwells on the rear deck port/starboard, mid ship in relation to the space of the deck before the rear prefabbed transom deck. When I removed the wells there was only 2"...

So anyway the sole well worked out very nice. Started to put my prefabbed stringers and bulkheads in and found issues with the existing other 2 fish wells. When I cut them out/demoing the boat the stringers were @ 2" high in those areas. So now after working with the new full height stringers...

Well I diddled with some wood today and began fitting the deep sole well into place for fit. Made some cuts and re-templates with the pink 1/4" foam for the fit out. Looks pretty good to me. All this had to be done in any event not having EEEEpoxy or glass. So moving along; Those black...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Oh I had more fun today for the mods to make the well fit. On either sides of the well, with the new stringers. I had to prior make butt joints. So the well was that no fit in those 2 areas. Flipped over the well and removed the little wood I had left on the underside of the well to trim and...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

So hey... too cool. Started reworking my components back into the boat. First the live well at the sole. I've had it covered up for so long I forgot how it would work out in relation to the new structures. I placed the deep well and wow! Will fit in after some mods. to the underside of the glass...

Then I picked up some plywood to make a floor fit. I used my leftover batch of 1/4" pink foam for template and Am quite happy. On the Sole; Good for now. At least I got something done. Cut, fit, cut fit etc....Still alot of work to do in those areas shown but very happy smackin in...

Thanks I think it's an 80 grit flapper pad. I just keep using um till they get softer and then use for other so much not abrasion. Went back out just now and started to work cleats in order to place the floor. Just a rough draft. Will need to seal some of the woods, glass etc but I really like...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

So a little at a time. I save the section of ply and glassed floor that I cut out of the cuddy berth when I had to access the Keel for replacement. I saved it to make a template for the new wood to go back in and also to re-use the textured glassed floor to match up as I want to put that back...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Got down to the end of my glass and EEEpoxy. I had enough left to finally get the second coat of glass on the keel. Still have a couple of spots to finish there like sealing, wrapping the tips completely.

    Cobia 24' rebuild project.

earyago; thats a storage space up on the lfet and no way can I get under there to make a clean joint. So as it went I built out the stringers to compensate for the new floor to sit on but that was coincidence. Cause of the hard to get to areas in the first place.

The original drainage holes were glassed over with this work. So I bought a flexible drill do-hickey and a vari-bit that just re opened them perfectly!

Well got to at least glass off 6 of the 8 boxes and cut the rest out for the other 2. Running out of the green stuff. Even the EEEpoxy is getting low. Should have enough thought to finish the boxes. Then Give the boat an entire SPRING Cleaning and start to prep the rest for later. Been running...
