    Roller bunk Adjustment advise ...

Not to be contrary to all dodge, his advice may work well. But if the boat does not load/center with the rollers moved away from the keel, you might try moving them closer in. It would put the rollers against the v hull portion at the bow and help to center the boat during loading. Every boat...

Jet ski trailer 5.30-12 tire upgrade to 205 75 14 fail

Good luck finding a radial in 5.30 x 12. You can use a 145/80-12 if you really want a radial. Also hard to locate in most areas.

What GA_ boater said. Are there any registration numbers on the vessel? And does he have the registration card? Does it have the sellers name on it? Always get title, registration card, and detailed bill of sale, with date, names, addresses, phone numbers of both seller and buyer. All...

    locating vin number

Look everywhere. In 1974, HIN were very new. Some manufacturers put duplicates in the boat, under the helm, inside the transom. How do you know its a '74 ? If year is on the title or registration, then the HIN or a serial number should be on the paperwork as well.

    Fuel Stabilizer Question

Welcome to iboats. I've heard some folks say that SF could cause problems, but offer no evidence, anecdotal or empirical. People have been saying this for decades. Seafoam products are different today than just a few years ago. They have been reformulated to be more use specific. The new...

    batteries mounted in the bow?

It should be fine, assuming your boat has "normal" adequate power. I didn't have room (depth) to put 2 batteries center front.

Bass tracker tournament tx 17 1988

Lots of top mount, side mount, and panel mount controls here on iboats. https://www.iboats.com/shop/searchrabbit/result/?q=controls+mercury not finding a wiring harness here, best bet may be a Mercury dealer.

    Trolling motor with spot lock

Brother in law sold his boat last year, took his 3 month old Terror off and gave it to me before selling the boat. From your report, I sounds like it will be a valuable tool. Can't wait to use it.

    batteries mounted in the bow?

I had 2 batteries up front under the port seat for years. Putting them together certainly made the wiring easier, and it countered my weight at the helm. I put small silicone cushions under the batteries to cushion them, mainly for trailering on logging roads. They looked like a Hersheys kiss...

Upgrading from 2 stroke to 4 stroke

yes, but switching to a lower pitched prop could likely do it for under $300. Does the boat have a tach? If so, what are the wide open throttle rpms with the current prop? What is the size and pitch of current prop?

    Electric outboards

It seems all the electric setups are pretty new, and ever changing. I'm guessing not many people have gone down this road yet. I would look to Elco and their web site for specific info. I'd be curious to know your set up as well. Looks like motor, controls, monitor, harness, tilt, batteries...

    1992 Bayliner Cuddy 3.0 Mercruiser

Versatile usually equates to compromised. Not a fan of 14'-20- older Bayliners, anything older than 2000. certainly don't want an underpowered one. The cuddy takes up a lot of room, and isn't good for much other than putting the baby down for a nap, or changing your clothes. You would have...

Advice on first extended trip with 14 footer/7.5

Sounds nice. We traveled 50 to 80 miles up the Graham logging road ( about 300 ? miles west of Missinaibi ) for over 25 years. Setting up a base camp somewhere north of Pakashkan and then visiting 5-8 lakes during our 2 week stay. Sometimes a week in the woods, then a week in a cabin. But as...

Advice on first extended trip with 14 footer/7.5

Just the peace of mind would be worth having 2 boats. Less trips back and forth. More room in the boat(s) all week. Room to take all those "extra" comfort and convenience items that you were going to leave home. I can't imagine going out for an afternoon cruise with 1000 pounds of weight in...

What would you put in a small outboard repair kit?

Well, being Canadian, you must know about Duct tape, "the handyman's secret weapon", Spare prop and wrench. Spare impeller and needed tools to change it. And a Sharpie marker, to put an "X" on the side of the boat to mark the location of any good fishing spots you find. :)

Bought another one from Rawhide Youth Services

Yep, just a baby tiller, only 16" wide. Still pretty sturdy though. Good for the flower garden, the only gardening we still do. And yes, troy went bankrupt and is owned by MTD now. Popped right off with one pull at 27* this morning.
