Rinker 212/Volvo SX M Throttle Cable

It would depend on the compartment, but it could be a length that doesn't coil well. Plus, I can imagine it would wear out sooner if it had sharp bends in it. Why don't you order both lengths and return the one you don't need?

    Stingray 208cr trimtabs question

The Nauticus site states, "...and stabilizer system that automatically adjusts to the sea conditions." That would imply they are spring loaded. I would call them to see if they think the springs are ceased.

    Question on my anodes

I've read if you do both salt and fresh, use aluminum. That's what I use. From Fisheries Supply, "Aluminum alloys offer some protection in freshwater but not as much as magnesium – so aluminum would only be recommended if your boat is intermittently in fresh water."...

Have you confirmed you have the correct size line for the windlass? Did it work before and now this is new behavior?

any tips on replacing the prop shaft seals on a dp-sm outdrive?

I've used a long jawed 3-jaw puller using the outer shaft prop nut to pull against and pushing on the inner shaft.

Sounds like the vent line may be the problem. Need to confirm it is not obstructed.

    New radio receiver

My boat came with cassette and no input jack, so I installed a Dual radio. Any brand will do and it's the same installation as in a car. If you match the brand you currently have, it may have the same wire harness and all you'll need to do is unplug the harness from the back of the current...

    Stalling issue

A one time fill with ethanol fuel would not cause your issue. Can you further explain when it's stalling? Just during idle or when trying to increase the RPMs?

    squeaky leaf springs

Great responses above. Note that WD40 is not a lubricant. It's primarily for displacing water, hence the WD. Try Boeshield T9 on the springs. It leaves a wax coating that helps prevent corrosion.

Video of 290 DP Outdrive Shaft Seal Replacement?

Can anybody share a video link or shop manual link on how to replace the prop shaft seals on a dual prop 290 A2 outdrive? I've checked Google and YouTube and haven't found one. The manualslib.com site doesn't appear to have manuals for these older drives. I did find the write -up below and it...

About to do my first VP SX outdrive service and have a few questions

Water gets past the drive and the gimbal (pivot) assembly. Newer generation drives don't have a gasket between them. The only seal between them is the D-shaped O-ring for the raw water passage. While the drive is off, check to make sure the plastic raw water outlet on the gimbal assembly...

    Do I survey a 25K boat

If your primary concern is the gas tank, is it aluminum or plastic? My tank of that ear is plastic. I would be more concerned with an aluminum tank that age.

Thinking of buying a Maxum 2400 SCR. Thoughts?

The microwave will require shore power (120V) and can't run on the battery, unless you have an inverter and lots of battery capacity. The fridge should be 12V, but you need to ensure you have sufficient battery capacity to run it extended periods. Stove should be propane or butane, unless it's...

Replacing trailer axle... what are the considerations?

If you go with a straight axle, you'll need to back the trailer deeper in the water to launch and retrieve. This could result in you backing your tow vehicle rear hubs into the water or submerge your exhaust. Things I don't like to do when I launch. In addition, you'll have to wade deeper in...

Replacing trailer axle... what are the considerations?

That trailer likely has surge brakes (my Calkin does). If you can confirm that by looking at the front coupler, you don't need a controller. Brakes are easy to install with the hardest part being bleeding them with the surge brake coupler. You'll need to confirm the surge controller is good...

New DP-M outdrive install: need advice

Before I made a custom cart I would have my wife help me wrestle the drive on. Two people can do it without hoist tools.
